That feature would be with your phone. The car just acts like a speaker and microphone between you and the phone.

I know this is an older thread but is anyone still having problems with the Bluetooth Audio connection? I went through the Engineering Mode and turned on the BT Audio. That option now shows up in my Audio tab but it will not connect to my phone. I can connect the phone through BT to make calls but not for audio streaming. Anyone have suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

you might have to update the software to make it work with iphones , if you saying you already have activated that option in Engineering menu, Once its connected all you have to do is to press PLAY in your phone. (android has autoplay on bluetooth connect , which i luv) so if it doesnt play after connected or after PLAY pressed , you need to update, sorry. its all APPLE's thing lol

Anyone know if a dealer is willing to update the firmware on a car without warranty. Kinda bummed that I did not stumble on this thread earlier.

Go ask them and see what they charge. Or see if there's a DVD/CD that you can buy to do the update yourself. I bet it's probably at least an hour labor.

Got mine done for about $150 from a dealer, while I was doing a bunch of other work. Could have been a bit more, not 100%, but it wasn't a fortune.

I'm in the Sacramento area as well. The techs at MB EDH seemed extra helpful with Bluetooth issues. Might give that dealer a try first. I am also noticing they aren't as busy as the Sacramento location.

I did notice a nice improvement on call quality and audio quality. The music sounded richer and calls were more clear than previously heard. Very nice surprise on those and of course, the bluetooth streaming audio works just fine.

One more thing..I noticed that the navigation looked a little different too. More colors, little bit more vibrant. The actual maps were not updated but the way the maps looked in COMAND was different. Not sure why because it wasn't listed in the list of improvements.

Anyone know if there's a DVD/CD we can use to update Comand? There used to be one for the W211 platform.

just curious, what phone are you using for the bluetooth audio streaming? there have been some issues with iOS 10 devices that I've been having along with some others...

I have an iPhone SE with iOS 10. (latest update on iOS) The first thing I did after the update was to remove the Mercedes bluetooth connection from my phone. Next, I started up the car and deauthorize my iphone that was previously synced before the update. At this point, I have a new firmware update, nothing synced, nothing showing up on my phone and in the COMAND.

Next, I authorized my iphone and synced. Once I did that, the iPhone syncs telephone and bluetooth audio quickly when the car starts up.

According to my service invoice receipt, line item shows which update was used: "telematics update using 212 8270019 disc."

Below is the bugs that the firmware updated. The service tech highlighted the bluetooth audio part after I inquired about it specifically but the entire page shows updates.

I have not experienced any of the listed issues on your service bulletin but I still hear blips while streaming music via Bluetooth from mine and my wife's iPhone 6s & 7.

In a separate thread, I know some people have changed the bluetooth power settings in their COMAND (engineering mode) which eliminated the "blips". I can't remember which thread but a quick search may bring it up.
