Good news and bad news.

Good news is, the Hockey Stick LED's are SO much nicer and more unique/exclusive and dynamic than the Straight look. I for one am very happy that we with the "Sticks" will have an LED design that will be somewhat more "rare" in the E/M-B lineup in time.

Bad news is, the new LCD Display is SO MUCH FREAKING NICER than our display.

I wonder if those are the straigh LED DRL's the earlier article referenced when it said M-B was making them available as an upgrade kit for earlier models?

Comparing this photo of the new front end with the 2011, I can't tell if those fascia openings are the same shape. Is it the exact same front end just with straight DRLs?

That would be an interesting option for current owners if an upgrade kit is available.

Thanks man!

They definitely look like the same openings/same exact bumper. The straight LED's just throw off the visual I think.

I'm sure there will be an expensive kit to switch. I think it looks good, but it gives the car a much more ubiquitous-with-the-lineup/corporate face than the Hockey Sticks.

The new ones are a less aggressive, classier look it seems.

Completely agree with that assessment. The straight ones don't look as 'mean'.

I can't decide yet which I like better. The hockey sticks, as you noted, are more aggressive, but the straight looks more integrated.

The C-Class underwent a major interior refresh in 2005 as well which was still inside the current model run. I would easily classify that refresh just as drastic as the refresh the C-Class is undergoing today. With that said, it's not impossible that MB will do the same with the current mediocre E interior.

After seeing the photos that K-A posted, I started looking around a found another shot of the revised front end. From this angle, it looks like it may be a slightly modified front fascia. Still can't tell for sure.

I hope this picture posts right:

That appears to be a luxury version which has a different front facia. I see the chrome trim strip on the rear bumper and the rocker panels are flat versus contoured as well as the extra slat in the front grill.

That's actually the Avantgarde model in Europe (Luxury front bumper basically). The one I posted was actually the first pic I've seen with the AMG Sport bumper and the straight LED's. But the LED's are identical to the ones in the pic you posted.

Yeah, you guys are right.

So K-A, your picture is the unified front end that Sport and Luxury models will share in 2012, yes? It's subtle, but I like the 2012 front end better than the luxury front.

I agree that the 2012 bumper is nice, however, I find that my 2011 Luxury front is smoother and has more of an S class look to it, especially with the 4 lamella grill. The new front look a bit bloated to me from the photo.

Yeah, the Luxury IMO looks terrible with the Hockey LED's, as they're too aggressive. The straight look is perfect and very classy with the Luxury front bumper. The Sport I find is better with the aggressive Hockey Stick LED's.

Voy2K: The picture I posted is of the Sport with the straight LED's, the other one is the Luxury front bumper with those same LED's.

I don't know of any change of front bumper markers.
The pics are of the "ECE" European Version that are not required to have Orange Reflectors on the front bumper/headlights..
