That makes sense. Fortunately, no creaks or rattles here (my 211 had some, but it has higher mileage of course), even with the pano roof, although I guess it's hard to tell what you're hearing, when you're going over rough surfaces. It sounds mostly like a bunch of uneasyness coming from the tires contact with the road and suspension/wheel size not designed to do enough to absorb that.

Actually it is a wine bottle holder. That's what I was told when I got mine back in No. 2009. Guess you placed it there and then stopped on side of road to picnic or something and then placed the bottle back.
You pull out both the top plastic strip and the webbing and place the bottle in it. Otherwise the bottle may slide through the plastic strip.
Not something Americans would want to use probably due to DUI laws. At least not an open one.

We have found several uses for the netting, to place thin items that you want to find easily, such as a thin box of Kleenex tissues.

My wife has a Handicap Parking placard. In our other car, we have to get creative finding a place to store it when not in use. In the W212, the placard has found an easy home in the netting, and it is beyond easy to grab it and hang on the rear view mirror when needed.

Further, look at Tusnik's video (post 52)...

The bottle hoop works even better when you hang one of those plastic door sill drink holders in the hoop (held in place by the OEM bottle hoop). With it's own hoop and molded bottom, you have an temporary third drink holder when needed.

In the US, a Mercedes is an expensive luxury car avoided by mediocre mechanics. In Europe, it's just another car, frequently used as a taxi just like the Ford Crown Vic in the states.

I'll take a Benz over a Ford, GM, or Mopar, any day, unless it's from the 60s.
