Bluetec, Have you considered de-badging? I did mine, it lowers the rear visual a bit more plus it looks wider and of course cleaner look. The blutec letters I found were flimsy and when I hand wash the lambswool would snag.

 

Yeah i have been thinking about that actually because i want to take off the factory trunk spoiler and install a different one. And the guys told me its the same process to take off the badges and spoiler. So yeah i am going to take everything off except the Mercedez emblem. I am also going back and forth about wrapping the chrome trim around the windows in a gloss black chrome effect. Along with the front grille and the chrome piece under the front bumper. Do you have any photos of ho yours looks ?

 

hair dryer dental floss and some paint cleaner like PS2 20 min all done. I was quite happy with my results. Looks even better 3 months after. In the EU badge delete is an option at order time.

 

There are many adhesive removers available to clean up residue, but the key is definitely hair dryer + dental floss.

Great set-up, agreed. Can i ask what spacers your running, if you are? i've got a stock E550 2011 4-matic. if i keep the 245/18's and don't lower, do you know what spacer mm is gonna push the tires in line with the fenders? i've seen guys using 15's, 20's...and staggered. but i think mine is squared anyway. thanks!

 

I am not using spacers, the wheels are custom made for w212 and fit perfectly without any accommodations. Original 245/18s are 18x8 all around. So in order to make the rears sit flush with the fender you would have to use a 1 1/2 inch or 38mm spacer. And you would need a 25mm spacer to make the front sits flush.

What i would do if i were you since you want to use your factory wheels and are not planning to lower it, i would use like a 10-15 mm spacer and use wider and taller tires and it will fill up the gap. Just stay below 26.5" diameter on tires and you will not have problems. I'm running 26.4" tires and lowered and i don't rub.

Rotary forged is another way of saying "cast"

 

i have staggered stock amg wheels
and recently installed rear spacers..i went with 15mm , should of used 20mm. still looks much better. rear ones 265/18
but if all you tires are 245/18s then you can do 10mm front (im sure 15mm would be pretty flush so it might scrape ) in this case 10 is safer.
and because of 4matic im not sure if it has to be 10mm also in the rear or you can actaully go wider.... like 15 or 20.
but with 10mm all around u be safe.

Of course. It's just a spun CAST mold at the end of the day.

Is that what the HRE rep told you BBB ? Lol just kidding. The process is actually totally different and wheels are stronger and lightweight than cast wheels.

A cast would mean you take a mold and pour molten metal into it, in rotary forged they take maybe a 6 inch piece of super strong material and spin it under heat to form the design they want. Very different process than casting like Vossens or replica AMGs
