adding keyless go to 2010 e550
hey forum-long time lurker--new 2010 e550 owner. Had a question. Was looking at a jeep the other day brand new and the salesperson actually pulled out a "keyless go" and just clicked it into the ignition switch which looked very similar to the switch on the e550. I had no idea it installed like that and then I found this thread.

I dont have keyless go but want to add it. I know when I walk up to my car with my key fob and touch the handle it unlocks. Does this mean my key is keyless go ready and that I should just be able to click a keyless go switch into my igniton? If so--whats the part number!

Welcome to the forum I believe you will find it a great source of information and assistance, post some pictures when you get a chance if you haven't done so yet.
Incorporating any MB features in a heavily computerized car like the W212 is a complex task, one of the few people most MBWorld forum members recommend for that is Steve at https://mbworld.org/forums/members/1384-mbenznl.html he can provide you a kit or a few times a year he visits the US for installs.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress and the cost.

If your car unlocks when you touch the door handle and your door handles look like this (they have a chrome strip and the small indent which is the lock button), then yes you have Keyless Go. Your car should have had a removable button in the ignition when you bought the car. Many dealers remove the buttons and hide them because people will steal them out of the cars in the showroom. If you did not receive a button when you purchased the car, have your dealer give you one.

door handle pic
here is my door handle pic. It for sure unlocks when I walk up to the car with the key and my ignition is in the same place as yours. My 2010 handle looks a little different

I don’t think Keyless Go is a standalone option on the E class.
So if you have all of these options then you definitely have keyless go.
So just by looking at your handle I would bet that you definitely have keyless go.

- Electronic Trunk Closer
- Bi-xenon headlamps with active curve illumination
- Adaptive Highbeam Assist
- LED Daytime Running Lights
- Heated headlamp washing system
- KEYLESS-GO
