ADVICE with going 20" and tire size

Well, Im just about to finish breaking in the new E class , almost 1k miles already. And I been rim shopping around, I really want to go 20"s well acutally I am no matter what lol. But Id like to know what tire size I should go, I do want to lower it with the lowest i can go with either eibach or H&R no cutting. And recommendations on what tire size ill be good at?..... And also I went to the local rim shop, there selling me a pair of 3 piece forged wheels for 4100 with tires staggered with nitto tires which i dont think its to bad. But ive seen some greeeat deals Locally on used 3 piece wheels in awesome shape, what other car has the same pattern as are E classes?

Thanks alot, ill be posting pics of my baby real soon

Im not sure what size wheels/tires you will need.

But I highly suggest you picking these up from another forum member...

I would have bought these if I didn't already have mine...

You will have to look into the fitment tho...

? just because you lower it? because of the camber? i haven't fixed my camber since the drop in September '10 and am not even close to needing new tires. If you don't cut your Eibs/HRs, you wont have much camber anyway. Check out this site if you want to make sure your 20's setup is close to your stock diameter setup.

I'm running 20" Vossens, here is the link to the pictures, I believe everything (tire size, etc) is in the thread, if not comment and I will add it.

Fromthebeginnin -

How were you able to fit the 245/35/20 up front without rubbing? From all my research I do not think anyone has been able to fit that without some sort of mod. please let me know - I ordered some new 20's and really want the 245/35 up front.

Thank you

Hi I sent you a PM but I didn't have to do any mod's/changes, just had one of the better shops in NorCal do the job, rides and runs excellent!

Only MBs - the best or nothing
With all due respect, it does not make sence. You say "you did not have to make any modifications" yet you say that a shop "specializing in high end cars who knows what it's doing" did installation. If its a simple bolt on, it does not matter who's doing it - you, me or a "specialty" shop. All I'm saying is that something had to be done, as 245/35-20 doesn not fit (it touches that plate/pearch) stock W212 on a 8.5" wheel with offset between 32mm and 43mm. I noticed you're running 9" wide wheel upfront - what it normally does is it "streaches" tire a bit vs. a 8.5" wheel just enough so that you may have enough clearance, but I do not know that for sure. Lets start with offset on your 9" wheels first, please?
