Change of oil in gearbox

Hello to all MB lovers

I'am new on this forum so I hope you can forgive me if this thread is posted wrong.

My question is: Can any one tell me when the oil in the gearbox needs to be changed? My car is a w212 350 CDI T-model.

In Denmark I'am told that it has to be done after 50.000 km, and i Sweeden they say it is at 125.000 km.
What is correct?

If you are talking about the 7G automatic transmission, Mercedes changed their recommendation from 125,000 to 60,000 along with releasing a new transmission fluid to go with it. It's currently 40,000 miles in the U.S.

To begin with, some time ago General Motors tried to convert an Oldsmobile engine to run as a diesel and it was a disaster. That gave diesels a bad name in the U.S.

Then there is the fact that until recently, gasoline was relatively inexpensive in the U.S.

Diesels cost more than gasoline fueled vehicles. Diesel fuel costs more than premium gasoline. New diesels are more complex than gasoline fueled vehicles. Gasoline powered vehicles perform better than diesels. Diesel fuel is more difficult to find than gasoline. New diesels in the U.S. require the injection of urea and the storage area for that urea is in the location that the spare tire resides on gasoline fueled cars. That forces many diesels to use run flat tires.

The older diesels would run forever but the new ones may not be any more reliable than a gasoline fueled vehicle so there isn't as much appeal as in the past.

It's not a one time change. It's EVERY 40,000 miles in the U.S. See the W212 maintenance manual. It's every 60,000 kilometers in Europe.

I have (had) three M-B's with 7G-tronic gearbox.

No difference between diesels and petrols - every 60,000km (40,000 miles) or whenever serviced around that mileage.
