I can't believe its normal to have to hold the button until your setting is adjusted. Crazy. My lexus is one touch and its so nice.

Pretty sure that is a safety consideration in case the seat moves too close or too far away from the pedals. If someone jacks up your memory setting and all of a sudden you are humping the steering wheel while driving that could spell disaster.

it's not difficult for MB to do, but I see this as a safety feature. Lexus is at fault here, not MB

My '01 E46 had one touch so long as the car wasn't running. That takes care of the "safety issue".

If my lexus is in drive it obviously won't adjust. Acura has it so when you hit the unlock on the remote, the settings are adjusted before you even open the door. That's nice!

Not if you're tremendously overweight and need to be far away from the steering wheel.

You know, I was thinking the same thing this morning. I am pretty **** about having both my drivers seat and my passenger seat adjusted the same, and so when someone sits on my passenger seat and start messing with the controls I have to lean way over and HOLD onto the memory button to make it back to the way I like it (after they leave of course)

Very, very annoying.

What are you talking aboutt? The seat adjusts before you get in. I cant even get in it if i wanted to after my wife hands the car back off to me. She has it way up close and high.

All your original post said is this: "I can't believe its normal to have to hold the button until your setting is adjusted. Crazy. My lexus is one touch and its so nice."

Am I missing something? I'm pretty sure most late models allow you to program the remote to match your settings. Most models also have a convenience entry feature which automatically moves the steering wheel up and the seat back to allow for easy entry.

One touch - no going back if you hit the wrong button - that is why I think this is a safety thing. Imagine a 6.5 tall man being squashed and having to be extricated by the "Feuerwehr" because the rental Mercedes he is unfamilar with has brought his seat forward. There are many people who are not famililar with the electronics of cars and have no clue. These people do not post on forums...

Don't tell me the seat wouldn't detect resistance and reverse adjustment now.

Resistance to what? Being too close to the wheel??

What I would like is a one-touch button that requires you to press it for a period of time (lets say 3-5 seconds) before it auto-adjusts, not just by pressing it for less than one second. Is that the way it is with Lexus? Now that would be a good idea...

I don't mind holding down the button for 2-seconds, non-issue for me.

Not sure when they fixed this, but I'm sure glad the preset radio stations can be changed on the steering wheel.

On 2006 E55, presets could not cycled through on steering wheel...now that suuuucked!! I didnt' realize there were soooo many Hispanic stations in Los Angeles.

I was wondering about that on my CL...preset radio stations can only be changed by pressing the #'s on the navi.

LOL!

I think Los Angeles is one of the highest Hispanic populated cities in the USA!

I mean going through the preset stations (using the arrows on steering wheel) without having to press the #s on the navi.
