DIY is with Plasti-dip, which I did but it's a matte finish. I hope to get mine painted glossy one day.

I wouldn't mind a matte finish....or glossy....so long as
they're blacked out, hehe.....

Here's out to black them out using plasti-dip. I would go this route because you don't have to take them off and it's not permanent. I sound like a salesperson for these guys mentioning it on both of your threads haha.

I used matte black paint for the rear truck emblem. For the front, I inserted a plastic flat badge and painted an emblem on it with gloss black paint. Both came out nice...

Just sprayed them on the car, block out a nice rectangle around the emblem and spray 2-3 coats let dry 30 min in between and then peel off the excess

The star was a little more tricky, make sure it is dry, may need an exacto knife to help cut off the excess while peeling

If you mess, peel it all off and do it again, no harm to car

i seen some of those electroplating people that can do "black chrome". Kinda keep the same reflective properties as chrome, but its almost black. I remember they used to do it to Lexus a while back. Something to consider
