Does vendor make black shadowline trims for the E350 (W212)? I see them on previous gen E class; I did find any discussion for the w212. If it has to be wrapped in vinyl, has anyone done it and what is your experience (how long it will last without peeling or fading)?

There are a couple of owners who have done it. I'm sure they'll come on eventually and tell you. Or pm members Edude and park423.Originally Posted by MB37

It's lame that Mercedes doesn't offer a shadow line option like BMW.....

did it myself with blackout trim vinyl tape available on amazon, it's 2 inch wide black out tape, just need patience and an x-acto knife. as for fading/peeling so far so good, only been about 5-6 months

Problem is, BMW's shadowline is like this high-gloss black chrome look, that has a rich and shiny depth to it up close. I personally don't know of any vinyl wrap that can emulate that (it's either matte, which is completely different as it's flat and looks like rubber IMO, or gloss, which is a different look than black chrome).
In Europe, I've seen W212's with black trim around the windows (OEM, it was probably the most bare bones W212 I've ever seen, shifter in the middle console and all), I personally don't think it looks that great but obviously many people prefer it.

Well, the thing is the mirrors are gloss black on bottom (accent). I figured a gloss black trim around the window would be a nice accent too. In any case, I'm just a bimmer owner figuring out what my options are and what's available. By the way, I like your front end wrap, KA. Do you have cost up pics. I wouldn't mind someone making a front grill with a CF/black apron for the w212.

i used bmw shadowline on c worked great only problem is that im not very skilled with vinyl so ended up painting, but the material is very high quality the glossy finish is deep overall the product seemed worth the 30-40$

Thanks. Yeah I'll post some up asap. There's a Thread in this Forum with a bunch of pics, but not sure if I've taken any super close ups of the wrap.Originally Posted by MB37

Really like this idea; cheap and reversible! Gotta give it a try on my black e550!Originally Posted by park423

Isn't this what those "Sharpie" pens are for....other than sniffing, I mean.
