Which car to buy or just second W212?
Time to get second car in family. We currently have E350 which is wife's car and I am thinking about a car for myself. I believe I can take a good deal for another E350 and I heard it got better engine now, but two same model cars in household... So what other car you have in household? Perhaps it will give me an idea about other car for myself, but please no Japanese cars.

Two of the same car would be incredibly boring to me. I'd say, if you need something similar to the E-Class, might as well pick up a 5-Series to have both, and you can keep the E maintained and pretty while you delegate beater duties to the Bimmer.
If you can play with your choices and car styles, and price points, then you can start looking at lots of other stuff. I'm looking for a possible second car too, but I don't want to spend too much on it, yet am very picky, and need it to be utilitarian for long drives (which my E technically already is), so I'm in kind of a bind.

If you're going to suffer a 2door get something with ***** (not a Cayman S). What's wrong with Japanese cars? Typically the japs don't like to roll the dice on all the advanced engine **** that the european cars employ (for example direct injection) but i've owned quite a few cars and I find Japanese cars are just better dollar for dollar than european cars in terms of build quality. That said European cars are typically more "fun". Of course that fun tends you leave you stranded at the side of the road (again referencing the direct injection fiasco).

You selling one?
Been there, at this point I'd rather go W211 E55 but it's just not logical for what I need it for. Plus, I'm happy to be out of the "SBC Game".
About the Cayman, I don't even know how much HP it has, and I don't doubt its precision for a second, just the way it looks is not very hot to me (next gen promises to look much better). If I were to recommend a Porsche to O/P, I'd vote 996 Turbo, 997 Carrera,

One other alternative, often forgotten. If you are a true enthusiast and want a car with lightening handling...a car that will turn heads...and if you physically fit consider the Lotus Elise or Exige. I had the opportunity to drive a elise and it was just incredible and it certainly had wow appeal based on the number of handprints when I parked it outside a restaurant (in sight) with the top down. Unfortunately, we have no dealer within a rational distance so I had to strike it from my list.
Once you drive a lotus, you will suddenly realize what a true sports car should be....

I actually change my recommendation, in the case that O/P is looking for a car like an E-Class (Midsize, Luxury, Functional, etc.) to the Jaguar XF, since Hype reminded me about Jaguar.
It wouldn't be my #1 pick for a sole car, but considering you already have the E in the house, the Jag will provide a nice differentiation, and a British twist. Not to mention, deals are amazing on them and they provide great bang for the buck. They have their quality issues, but it you're Leasing, or not planning on Owning for long, you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

I dunno, I just checked and XF's are Leasing for $599 with almost $4K down. About the same as the E350. Obviously I choose the E, but on paper, with the 5.0L 385 HP motor, etc. the Jag is a damn nice "bang for the buck", especially if it's a second car (keeping it at a level maybe not as paramount to you as a primary car).
With how desperate Jag is to move these slow moving things, I'll bet you can work some pretty nice discounts.
