Need help with the price of 2010 E550 coupe
Hi guys, it's my first time posting in this forum...
I am trying to purchase 2010 E550 Launch Edition Coupe. (I heard only few hundred units were made in U.S - someone clarify this for me)
I saw one in a Mercedes Dealership 150miles away from my home. The limited Olivine grey exterior and natural beige interior combination was just stunning. I fell in love with this car in first sight.
It is a CPO vehicle with warranty, has 20k miles, but in excellent condition. the dealer was offering $49,999 and I tried bringing the price down to $47,000 since the car had 20k miles on it.
The salesman from the dealership agreed with $47,000, but I want to know is paying $47,000 for 2010 E550 Launch Edition Coupe with 20k miles a good deal or not a good deal.
The dealer also said that if I'm willing to buy this vehicle, he will drive this car to the nearest MB dealer from my house (which is 50miles away) and I can do all the paperwork and registration there...
What is your opinion??????? to go or not to go???
thanks XX

Hmm, I can't say as I don't research Coupe prices. It seems E350 Coupes don't hold their value like E350 Sedans (makes sense, the Sedans are much more popular/necessary to most).
E550 Coupes offer a lot more than the 350 (obvious engine aside, you get the nice AMG Package), and a Launch Edition should be a nice touch.
M-B is VERY messy with their MSRP's and incentives. It's hard to gauge what's a good price with these cars still being so new, as some people are getting new W212's for the prices of Used W212's.
My best advice: As a smart shopper, pay NOTHING extra for "Launch Edition", because you probably won't get anything back from it when you sell the car. Find the prices of basic E550 Coupes in the Autotrader, and use those as gauges. Low ball them an offer on something along those lines, don't let them swing you into a premium for the Launch Edition. You're goal is to get a launch Edition E550 Coupe for what would be a steal on a non Launch Edition E550 Coupe with 20K miles.

Purchased the car today....another guy was offering 49000$ so I had to decide fast.... 50500$ including sales tax (7%), title and documentary fee. I think it was an okay deal. The salesperson was very nice and answered my questions very well which moved my mind. The car will be delivered to my place free of charge too! Can't wait until Saturday!!!!! Will upload pics soon!

There is always the outside chance that he was telling the truth but in my experience he was lying through his teeth.
If you haven't signed anything yet I would continue to bargain with him...

Yeah, common tactic. So is the "if you leave today this deal isn't on the table anymore" one.
Who knows though, enjoy the car O/P. Could be a good deal as far as I know, just haven't looked into E550 Coupe prices, but I do know that it would be a bit high with 20K miles to me for a Sedan.

$4000 is quite a large margin....that is the difference between paying $46,000 and $50,000. Maybe I am just to ****, but I would know the MSRP down to the penny before making any type of offer. I agree, I think the dealer lied to you, but if you got what you wanted and are happy, awesome!!
