I am posting pics in a second.

My setup is:
Mtec HID 6K (low beam) kit. Built in capacitors and all that good stuff for no error codes.
5K LED city bulbs, 5K LED side marker Bulbs in a smoked side marker housings. (From Azian Optics)
When it gets warmer i will be installing my last set of 5K LED bulbs on the license plate lights.
Keep in mind that the iphone does not capture the light very well. My side markers and city lights are Bright White and my HID's are the same, with a very very small purple hue (from far way). Looks very classy and better than OEM IMO.
I will posting under the hood pics in a second.....

The installation really wasn't that bad, since the kit is all plug and play. I first took off the low beam caps and drilled holes in the center. The mtec kit also comes with a plug that you can fit through that hole (50 mm i believe) to seal it off from any water or condensation.
The passenger side was easy. I mounted the ballast on a flat surface next to the grille. I used industrial Velcro along with industrial tape (we use this stuff at work, the ballast will never move). Then simply run the wires through the low beam cap and to the headlight(i used zip ties to clean it up as much as i can).
Unfortunately, I don't have any actual installation photos. Along with any photos of the drivers side. Taking off the wheel liner is a huge advantage. You can mount the ballast under the headlight housing and install the bulb as well. All of the wires are hidden. If you look really hard at my passenger side you can probably find my ballast and some wires, however nobody will be looking that hard.
I will try to find and post a DIY video from a newer body C class that is very similar to our installation. That is what i used for my install.
And the pics...

!!! the first "real" write up w/pics on how to install hid kit can't wait to see how you ran the wires w/o drilling the dust caps, captj3.
alloutmk23, if w/o captj3's method, does it mean no matter what kind of kit you buy you still need to drill holes on the caps? i know both aznoptics and ijdmtoy are selling the hid kits for much less and lots of members are happy w/them. so if i don't get the mtec kit, does it mean i'm screwed? how do you like the 6k low beams and 5k city lights? can you tell any color difference?
ok, might as well go all out and ask you guys more questions as you two are well more responsive. how easy/difficult to change the city lights, alloutmk23? i know you have hockey sticks but do you know how to change the drl and fog bulbs on the quad? how about you, captj3? do you know how?
good luck on the license plate bulbs, alloutmk23. i saw some videos on how to change them and it's pita
...at least for me
.sorry, guys. man, i'm all excited
! this post really made my day

You can get whatever type of kit you like. I just prefer Mtec because my brother and cousin both have them on their mercedes, and they both have had good experiences with them. You don't NEED to get an Mtec kit, just make sure whatever brand you decide to go with is a reputable one with good customer reviews.
As far as drilling that caps, you must drill the caps with whatever kit you purchase, because you need to run the ballast wire to the HID bulb. However, leaving the caps off is also an option. My buddy leaves the caps off on his VW CC and hasn't had any problems. But for me, its a simple drill, through plastic at that.
I don't know how to change the fog bulbs. But the city lights were easy. Just take off the cap, stick your hand in there and twist out the bracket. You just pull those bulbs straight out and push the new LED one in. Then take the bracket and twist it back into the housing. The 5k LED bulbs match the LED DRL's pretty well.
? do you have any idea? as for reputable one, i did think about mtec and don't mind paying $275 for it. however, after i've checked both aznoptics and ijdmtoy, they have kits which many members are happy with for around $100. that's close to 1/3 of the mtec price. i could use the extra money for other bulbs
.thanks for the instructions and i'll try to change the city lights myself. hope to see your diy video soon

Like I said, I went with mtec because Ive seen their product previously. You don't have to go with them.
I will try to find the DIY video that I followed. I think it's in the C class forums.

There ya go. It's the thread from the C class section. Pretty much the same setup as ours. Watch the video.
