Easy Entry/Exit & Steering Wheel Tilt problem

First off...my Easy Entry/Exit is ENABLED.

I've already set Memory Seating #1 for myself. Shouldn't the steering wheel tilt up and away when I turn ignition OFF/open driver door? Thus, when I enter my vehicle, and start the ignition/close driver door, the steering wheel should return to my Memory Seating #1 position, right?

Also interesting to note, I cannot DISABLE my Easy Entry/Exit setting...its stuck in ENABLED.

Any clues what's going on?

I guess I'll give the obvious answer....If you can't turn it off, then you need to let the dealer look at it.

I had one of the motors for the steering wheel burn out, which made the whole entry/exit feature inoperable. Happened a few months after getting the car.

LOL...it seems I'm learning something about this car every couple of days....LOL!!

This is the first car I have that allows the driver to do soooo many options. My Touareg provides similar options, but not as much as the w212.

Thanks to this forum, I've learned alot already...and expect to learn more in the future.

thanks...will check into it.

funny thing is, I mentioned it to my MB service advisor when the car was being serviced for a dead battery, but he automatically thought everything wrong with my car was due to the dead battery....he didn't check it out, and seemed to hurry me along.

btw...i did reset to factory settings...hoping that would clear all settings....unfortunately, it did nothing...looks like all my settings are the same...unless my settings and factory settings are the same...lol!!

looks like a trip to the MB service again if I can resolve this myself.

Thanks for posting this. I had thought that my easy entry/exit didn't appear to be working, but since I am only driver didn't pay that much attention.
Now I have tested it, it is enabled and it is NOT working. Taking it in for "B" service in couple of weeks so will add that to list for them to do.

Just a dump idea but are you sure your steering wheel is not at its highest position? If it is it cannot move up for the easy entry feature as it already is all the way up.

For some odd reason, my computer had to be re-flashed at the dealership...now it works....although it doesn't really move up as high as my Lexus does.

Set low

Actually, it is set very low, which is why the Easy Exit/Entry is so nice. BTW, the one on my Hyundai always worked perfectly.
