Just ordered a new E 350

Soo i just got back from the local MB dealer and i ordered a white E350 sedan.. the salesman said "its on the water" as in its on a boat on the way to the port, he said it should be in at the end of the month. Does any1 have experience with this situation? I'm just curious how long its going to take to come in.. im very anxious

It take six weeks to get to Port Hueneme on the west coast. It should take about 4 weeks to get to Jersey.

If you just ordered it, how could it be on a ship already? Did you take a car that had been ordered for dealer inventory?

Yes, the dealer had already ordered it.. i just purchased it from them, and it was already on its way to the port.

2005 Audi S4 MT6
About 3-4 weeks from the time it shipped until the time we took delivery.

It's ~5000 miles (Germany to DC-rough estimates) at ~23mph so figure 10 consecutive days at sea. Then it has to be unloaded but it may or may not be at the first port, then port has to inspect it and I would guess customs has to clear it. Then it's a mix of trucks and trains to get it to you.

Call the salesman and ask him to get the name of the boat from Montvale. Then you can track it when it's near shore. Here's a screen shot of my boat going though the Panama Canal.
