That aside, the requirements for finish protection on an airplane (decrease drag, aid de-icing) are different from the requirements for a car (protect against elements, increase shine)
The toothpaste I use may polish my teeth but is completely unsuitable for my car's finish.
There are many proven products out there that are formulated for automotive paints and leathers (by the way, the leathers used in aircraft are more similar to the leathers found on your couch at home than in your car.)
This isn't to say that you cannot find some new product that is equal to or better than what is out there now, but this doesn't appear to be it.
Over the years, I have also experimented with various Meguiars products, Griots Garage products, 3M products, Zymol products, Adams products, and most recently, Smart Wax from California. None of it comes close to comparing with the ease of use and depth of shine you get from Zaino.
I'm sure there will be various opinions of what works and what doesn't work on this forum. I am not advocating Zaino as some miracle wax/polish, but simply sharing my lifetime experiences with various products. I may even give this Aero stuff a try...I'm always looking for a better product with a better result.

I'd like to try these too, although I'm not planning on going 500mph, haha

More important than the product (most quality products will give the average detailer a similar result) is the surface preparation. That said, you do have to use a product that is properly formulated for automotive use.

I gave up my bikes when my first kid was born(1985)
Btw,the only thing I wish my car had is metallic paint. Asked a body shop pal of mine, what a coat of Obsidian bk metallic would be,,,he said about 4k. Sick.

A proper respray requires removing all glass, molding, interior, engine and wiring and so forth. Even at rock bottom pricing you're looking at ?10-15k and resale value is zero.

I should become better at doing my own cars; yes.......
it's not that I'm really afraid, just a bit nervous...is there a difference? lol....
I have always enjoyed keeping my cars clean.......even my ford ltd.....haha

But yeah,,the random orbital action of the machine I mentioned makes it a breeze,,you dont get that awful burned swirly mark you can easily get with a regular rotary buffer.Small and lite weight affording one hand usage. And no need to press down.

Pads come in different levels of abrasiveness and are matched to the problem you are trying to correct and the product you are using. The pads are color coded. You start with the least abrasive product and pad that you believe will fix the problem and go from there. The advantage of Porter Cable buffers is that you have to try real hard to screw up.
You'll want to spend some time on a detailing site like Autopia before you start buying stuff. Figure on spending $300-400 to get started but once bought it'll keep you going for life.

AGREE. I am a Zaino user as well however when I do my once a year full detail clay bar and buffing, I prep with Menzerna. I also went down your route as well with a trial of Pinnacle Paste. While it was OK, I wasted $100 -- it was quickly back to Zaino
