Hi,

I am being offered on a 2012 E350 with P1 package, lane track assist, and mb-tex. MSRP was 56k and he straight off offered me 50k MSRP. I plan to get to 49k-50k AFTER tax and license fees. Anybody think that is do-able?

If you can get more than $7500 off of msrp for a 2012, that beats my deal, about $53,500 out the door.

depends on how much tax are you paying. if around 10%, 50k out the door is good deal.

Some of us got almost 20% off last year, BEFORE the 2012's hit the lots. Over $10K off in some cases. Absolutely ridiculous price slashing. As beneficial it is as a buyer, it hurts in the long run, as the resale of these cars tank, not to mention, you can kiss "prestige" factor bye bye. Hopefully MBUSA gets a stronger grip and keeps closer to MSRP this time around. I'm all for great deals and want my cake at the cheapest price possible, but AT LEAST protect resale by pricing the MSRP closer to reality, rather than slashing 20% off of it (what some people were very close to getting).

I think it works out in the wash. If you get a hell of a deal at the time of purchase on a car that is being updated midcycle or replaced with an entirely new model, you don't have much to complain about when you take a bit of a hit at resale time.

I'd appreciate any input as to whether $5k driveoff, $650/month, 10k/yr, 33 months seems like not such a good deal on a 2012 $60k msrp E350?

I got my car at the time, when new 2010 model just came up to the market. It was in November 2009 and demand was very high, so the prices. My lease for loaded car for 39 months with MSRP about $60K and 15K miles a year is $770 a month with zero down.
I think today you can do better deal and no money down for sure. What is included in $5K driveoff ?

Assuming a sales tax of 8.75% (here in NYC) and adding a few hundred for other fees and using your numbers-- you intend to get this 2012 E350 car for $45,000? That is an $11,000 discount or a whooping 20%!

Good Luck!

2012 E350
I just got mine 2012 E350 for $50,580 out the door (tax, license, fees) included.
Sticker was $56,325
Configuration:
Black
Black MB-Tex
Burl Walnut Wood Trim
Heated front seats
Accessory Styling Package Rear Deck and Roof Spoiler
18" AMG Wheel Package
Premium 1 Package
Sport PAckage

As far as I know I got a discount of over $9k. I did have a previous relationship with the dealer as I got my Porsche from the same auto group a couple of years ago and played a big part on getting a great discount.

Hi, so was your price $47,325? What % is your sales tax? What is the license/reg fee amount? What misc dealer charges on top of that?
Thanks

Looking into an 09 E550
While I realize that getting much under $550/month for an E550 is not possible, is there relatively comparable deals out there for a 2011 550? Can I still even lease a 2011?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but didn't want to start on a new one on the old topic.

We were just offered $9k off on a E350 with sticker of $57585. This of course includes Conquest cash and whatever else they were able to swing. Being that 2013 is about to hit the showrooms, is this still a good deal?

Thanks for any suggestions.

That is an excellent deal. I am assuming it includes the $3K of Conquest rebate.

Yes Conquest rebate was included according to them. He says the only way to get more discount than this is to be member of USAA, but I don't have any affiliation with the military...

Some great info in this thread, learned a lot.

Does anyone know if a trade in can be used toward MSDs instead of as a down payment for a lease?

It should be the same as cash.

As an example, if you have a $20K trade, and the MSDs required are $5K, the dealer would apply $15K as a cap cost reduction and $5k as MSDs. If the trade is only worth $4K, you would have to come up with $1k cash to equal the assumed required MSDs of $5k.

Thanks mjsbenz.

The car I'm looking at is a 2012 E350 Bluetec that has an MSRP of $56,125. Looking online, the invoice seems to be around $52,500. I'd like to go in and see if I can get $52,500 and then the $3,000 Conquest incentive for a final price of $49,500 plus see if I can get them to throw in the maintenance as well. What do you think?

We owe $11k on our 2005 E320 but private sale value seems to be about $15,300. I have it up for sale and have had a few inquiries but would much rather go through the dealer if they could give me the same price. I'm thinking that's too much to ask for...$6,625 off the car AND private sale value for the car.

you'll never get private party value from a dealer unless they don't give you a penny discount on your new ride.

Yea that is what I am thinking as well. Need to sell the car first and then go and try to get the best deal.

Sucks that the current E350 Bluetec says is ending on May 31st and I'm actually going out of town on the 26th, so I have this week to do anything. What's the chance they wille extend the current lease special...and the Conquest promo?

I did have someone look at our E320 today and they seemed to like it, they said they will follow up in the next couple of hours so we'll see how that goes.

That lease deal's been running a long time. The MB specials are always posted for a month at a time, but keep getting extended. I think you're safe.

Conquest seems to go up and down but should stay high at model year end.

Regards,
Don

The only reason the E Btec is a deal is the residual. All the leases are standard money (except for MSD) so as the change of MY comes the residual will definitely go down. Especially if the engine is tuned for next year.

The supply is very low in most regions so good luck next month. See what your trade is worth at auction and work the dealer that way. We got ours at end of March and it's almost embarrassing how good the payment is. And don't forget to add the pre paid Maint. The diesel will get you for service if you're not aware.

What deal did you get if you don't mind sharing?

Supply seems pretty decent here in Phoenix. We have 4 Mercedes dealerships and they all have the Bluetecs on the lot, ranging from 2 models at one dealership to 8 at another, from $52,165 (P1) to $60,xxx+.

As for our car, someone saw it today and it looks like they want to buy it, will know tomorrow by noon.

We got ours at the end of March. There was $4k (USAA), $2k (MB loyalty), and $1k (MB Club) that could be combined. All in addition to USAA pricing of around invoice.

Basically, we got MSRP of $64,850 for around $54k if I remember correctly. Lease is $480/month for 24 months including 6% tax and only had to have about $750 out of pocket. A steal for sure. Residual at that time was 71%.

Not sure what you're looking at, but as GH suggested try to get a P2 package. The lighting package is amazing, plus the other gadgets. The car really is great; most solid car on the road.

Couple of things if anyone could give some advice...

First, should the Conquest incentive be mentioned up front or first negotiate the best price and then bring that up at the end? Or just go in and say "I'd like to pay $52,500 for the car minus $3,000 Conquest for a total of $49,500"?

Second, should the fees and tags/title be rolled into the lease or is it better to pay them up front?

pay the legally required fees tags registration up front...but not any other fees.

negotiating is whatever is comfortable for you. It depends on what you are eligible for....if it's USAA, then identify it right up front. If it's conquest, then discuss what they will sell you the car and then we'll subtract the conquest money. Mercedes finance and Mercedes club money can be brought up at the end.
