Bluetec badge replacement?

I'm going to be removing the blue efficiency badges on the side of the vehicle this weekend, but looking at the rear badge, does anyone know if there are other badges to replace the 'bluetec" badge, say, for the good old MB "turbodiesel" ??? I've searched the web, haven't found any except for replacements on older vehicles with the venerable I6 TD engines, unless you guys think those will also work.

Good question which I unfortunately don't have the answer to. I would love to replace with "Turbodiesel" as well. I really liked the 2007-2008 ML/GL with the XX320CDI on the left and 4 matic on the right. Somehow MB marketing in the USA doesn't like to use the words or allude to diesel fuel much. Popular thing to do on the VW diesels i've noticed is de-badge everything except the "TDI".

I may try to get some dimensions and measurements for this sort of badge: (without the holes of course, this is just a sample, the font matches the E350 on the left)

That's a good idea. TurboDiesel >>>> "Bluetec".

Bluetec and Blueefficiency are some very, very, lame names.

I replaced the "BLUETEC" badge on the tailgate of my GL with the "TURBO" part of that exact badge. Makes me feel like I'm driving a fast vehicle

Agreed.I removed the "Blue Efficiency" badges within days of taking delivery but the "Bluetec" badge staysHowever,I'd prefer to have a badge that just read "diesel".

Once the BLUETEC badge is gone, a Sunoco "Official fuel of NASCAR" decal will fit perfectly. Bitc*in!!!

Have other bluetec folks ever been asked what it means? I get asked many times, and the answer is usually: "Mercedes-Benz used to just put a turbo diesel badge" ... I really liked the way this stood out:

would it not be a great option to be able to specialize your own badging from the factory?? especially if you order your cars??? like I have for all three...
I mean geez, so charge some extra cash.....sure.......
I'm pretty sure people would like that option..

Agreed I think consumers like ourselves would like, however I have a feeling MBUSA marketing would not like it. I would love "E300 Turbodiesel" on the back of mine just like the '98-99 W210s.

Did anyone change their badges over yet?

Also I notice in other parts of the world they have "CGI" badge on the back but doesn't look like that's coming to the states either.

I heard the diesels have been upbadged to 350 as MBUSA though people wouldn't pay a slight premium for a lower number on their car. Would 550 drivers be bothered if their '12s had E460?

Hey guys, I have another option for you. Take a look at www.chromecarletters.com. I spent a couple weeks talking to my dealership and researching on the internet before I found them.

I wanted to put "SPORT" on the other side opposite the E 350 in the same size and design of the E 350. This place has them, manufacturer specific and can make anything you want. I love the letters. They are exactly liike the E 350. I simply took measurements and applied them to the other end and they came out perfectly. I would definitely do it again!

If anyone has any questions, send me a PM. Good luck! If I can get a picture of the trunk, I'll post it for you to see.

OP...just order the badge that you posted above. The font is still the same as new ones. I think the W210 Diesel had that badge on it. I can order you one, if you have trouble getting one.

wow, this is ideal for people who want to personalize their rides a bit but i sure hope i won't see too many "e63" around. it'll be fun to see people come up with some creative ideas. maybe put equus or genesis on the left and remove the star just to mess with the hyundai so-called designers .

Take a look at this TURBODIESEL badge on eBay. Comes with adhesive backing. Perfect for what some of you are looking for.

I may consider it as well...

You can ask the dealer to install it, or take it to body shop that has experience in Mercedes' trunks. They reapply badges all the time.
