Silver vents reflecting in side windows

Has anyone noticed their side vents on the left and front of the dashboard reflect in the side windows causing it to be hard to see what is in the exterior rear view mirrors. I just had my vehicle at the dealer and apparantly there is a dtb about this and they replaced my vents with ones that have black louvers. This was covered under my warranty too, so i was very happy that they could take care of that for me. My wife said she didn't notice it, but it bothered me sometimes when the sun was just right. Also the vents look just as good on the side even though they aren't silver. The black blends in very nicely with the dashboard. I also looked at other new cars (i.e. 2012 s-class)on the lot, and they all had dashboard colored vents on the sides, with silver vents in the center. Just wondering if i am alone with this issue.

Wow, interested to see pics of the black louvers. Issue with that to me would be that you'd lose some styling distinction and pizazz from the more unique silver vents.

I haven't noticed it on mine, or at least not enough for it to be a problem. However, I remember when the W212 came out, someone posted a Thread stating this very thing, so you're not alone, indeed.

This is not a scientific response, just my gut reaction. Perhaps, those of us with tinted windows don't notice it as much due to the tint diffusing the sun's rays and therefore reducing the relection off interior components. I have never noticed any reflection on any of my cars.

I occasionally pick up cars from auctions or do dealer trades for a couple dealerships. When driving those cars, without tinted windows, sometimes the reflections are unbelievable. A good pair of polarized sunglasses do help with the situation. Just a few thoughts.

Good points. Driving in non-tinted cars get me queasy and paranoid. Can't live without 'em.

Non-tinted windows here and isn't bothering me yet, though I have been looking out for it last couple days after reading this thread My interior is almond so wondering if they would replace with black or would it be the brownish color of the dash? Either way I will wait to see if I am bothered before asking at 10k. Ironically my wife thinks I should get it tinted though I prefer un-tinted. For me only reason to be tinted is really to protect the interior and keep the car cooler in the summer months.
