It's not about whether they are a 350 or 550, so to answer your question, no there is no difference between a 550 and 350. However, one could have a luxury 350 and a sport 550 and you would notice the differences as you explained or vice versa. Sport models change the skirting to offer a more aggressive style and look.

The emblem on the back is different, but that's it.

Only different with the hood open, or peddle to the floor.... My debadged 550 sport looks identical to my buddies debadged 350 sport.

Unfortunately you're on the wrong forum. You need to go to the C207 Coupe forum. But, to answer your question yes there is a difference. The 550 comes with the AMG sports frontend, sideskirts and rear. These are not available on the E350.

UNLESS. You live in Canada, and the e350 comes with AMG appearance if you add the sport package

2008 Mercedes Benz E550 AMG Sport Package
The E550 came with an air suspension and an AMG package that lowered the suspension by almost an inch. The E350 came with a standard suspension. It also did not have a ride height adjustment for snow chains or steep driveway clearance like the E550. I am not sure, but I do not think the E350 came with an adjustable ride suspension for comfort, sport or sport+ either.

The E550 also came with real leather, although this is obviously not a suspension item.

The badging is different. The window sticker is different.

To answer the OP's originally intended question, regarding the differences in the coupes, there is a difference - not so much in the body, but the front and rear bumpers as well as the side skirts, even if both are equipped with Sport/Appearance/AMG body trim kits and wheels.

COUPES:

-The 350 has a less aggressive front bumper, air dam and chrome strip at the bottom.
-The side skirts are less scupted and fit tighter to the body whereas the 550's side skirts are more similar to those on the sedan when equipped with Sport/AMG trim kits.
-The rear bumber of the 350 is rounded, more like the luxury sedan bumper, with a chrome strip. The 550 bumper has no chrome, and is more aggressive in design like the sedan with Sport/AMG trim kits.
-Rear diffuser of 350 has those little air foils - a luxury bumper but with air foils in the diffuser...and also has oval exhausts. The 550 exhausts are trapazoidal shaped like the sedan when equipped with Sport/AMG trim kits.

These differences are for US models. It does not appear that Canadian and Euro versions have the same differences.

Unless you live in Canada. The Amg package on my wife's E350 coupe was a 1500.00 option which included sports steering wheel, AMG wheels, skirting and front bumper. It also included the bright AMG pedals.

Confirmed.

I was at a stoplight and some tool in a e350 sedan was blasting some crappy pop music (not sure if he was gay or something) and singing along like a weirdo.

A full sized bus had just turned the corner (across the street) and was about to merge into my lane. When the light turned green, I had to either wait for the e350 to take off and get behind him, or punch it and get in front of him.

Light turns green and I hear e350 attempt to punch it, so I floored my e550 and safely made the lane change into his.

He was pissed off and gave me a dirty look and I laughed at him.

"So he was gay or something". It just goes to show you that you can be an *** and still drive a Benz. And now who do you think is laughing at you?

Agree with you, petee. But one (at least those who tried both) would have to agree with this: "Light turns green and I hear e350 attempt to punch it, so I floored my e550 and safely made the lane change into his."
Since I switched from E550 coupe to E350 sedan as my main car now, I can no longer do above, and sometimes its required wether from standing still, merging or passing. A mistake on my part (not the part of switching from a coupe to a sedan, but the part of not staying with the V8).

I really don't care to be honest....I'm not living life to make friends, I'm living life to make a profit. For the past 10 years, on average, every 18 months or so I have outright purchased a brand new car.....so to those of you who are "laughing", might I suggest you concentrate more on your own life? Perhaps that way you could afford a nicer car? I dunno....just throwing out a suggestion.

The fact of the matter is that a 40 year old grown man listening to what I can only assume was "Brittney Spears" or whatever pop artist is considered "hot" nowadays.....where I come from, guys like that are a little "light in the loafers" if you catch my drift. Just making a casual observation on my end....

The fact of the matter is that he purposely stepped on the gas when the light turned green, in an attempt to force me to slow down for the bus.

The fact of the matter is that my thoughts ran along the line of: "**** you, **********."

I eagerly await your response in an attempt to force your holier-than-thou ****ing opinion down my throat, then attempt to shame me when I don't think or act how you think I should think or act.

In closing, I would like to leave you with some words of wisdom from your personal savior, Obongo:

"Everyone is equal and everyone deserves everything they want in life, regardless of whether they have earned it or not."

Tsk, tsk, you are offended. I guess you think you are a big wheel now that you drive a Benz. You want to show us you make money. Wow! We're impressed. Imagine trading cars every 18 months! You must be the richest man on this board. I hope you know what dogs do to big wheels.

PS By the way, you won't be on this forum very long with that language.

I won't argue how nice a V8 is, especially this new bi turbo. The torque is awesome and it has a great exhaust note. However the new DFI 350 is not to be sneezed at. My 04 SL had the same HP as today's E350. In the next ten years I would think the day of the V8 will be gone along with old dinosaurs like myself. Expect to see twin turbo 4cyl. engines that will develop in excess of 350hp and run on a spoonful of gas.
