2011 E250 AV / Palladium Silver / AMG sport package
Trunk spoiler
Hi, after seeing a lot of the members in this forum sports a trunk spoiler on their W212, I'm tempted to order one as well. So, I thought I might as well get some valuable advice from you guys on the following:
1) genuine M-B parts (the E63) vs. OEM parts (like the ones JBSpeed sells), how different are they in terms of quality, fit and price?
2) painted vs. carbon fiber (my W212 is Palladium Silver with pano roof)?
Would also like to get the roof spoiler, but would that be overdoing it and takes away the "luxury" touch to my W212?
Thanks!

I got mine from JBSpeed.
Id say get it color matched instead of CF. If u plan on getting a few exterior CF appearance mods then do the CF. (ie. Diffuser, grill, wheels, front lip) Pretty sure having just one CF spoiler alone wont look right.

painted or cf is really your personal preference. same as the body color. no one can give you a certain answer on this one.
there are couple different types of roof spoilers. one is more subtle than the other. i personally think the subtle one is a little too subtle. but you'll probably like it if you worry about it'll take away the luxury touch.
please see above post.

My 2011 has the OEM deck and roof spoilers. However, on my 2010 I got a spoiler from "Gnarly", and I'd highly recommend it. Very cheaply priced, good quality, and it's actually a replica of the E63 spoiler, so it's a bit more aggressive (but less clean) looking and has that area where it does a nice little half circle "wrap around" the Star emblem on the trunk.
IMO, based on the pics of the aftermarket spoilers offered on this car, it's the best looking one.

These are aftermarket ones on my car.
One of my co-workers has the factory ones...i like mine better & they were wayyyy cheaper, even at dealer cost. Fitment is perfect.
Factory MB spoilers used to come painted, but they stopped doing that a few years ago. Now, i see no advantage to ordering factory ones.
Carbon Fiber looks great on Palladium too!!! If i had a Palladium car, i would've gone CF.

I took my eom roof spoiler off. I found it messed with the lines of the car...but I kept the trunk spoiler. Personal preference I guess
My oem roof spoiler is for sale on eBay now. It is black obsidian and like new

That's a good point. It does adjust the lines a bit. I'm keeping the roof spoiler on my current E though, I think it works with my setup.
