Pull out the ashtray insert and look... You will see the metal tabs that hold the metal chrome cover to the black plastic tray beneath. VERY EASY to pry/bend the metal Cover loose with a small screwdriver. You're left with a black plastic tray insert that is removable when needed. See post #47 for pics. (tray on the RT pic)

While the insert is out, look at the space left in the area, and decide whether you want to use the tray without the chrome cover, OR whether you want to acquire the rubber insert others have described. This is what people get when they order the cancerstick lighter/ashtray delete option. (Post #47, LT pic.)

Here's what I've done with mine. I've added the 4-port charging module within the black tray insert. Leaves room for change, too.
