Question: Can you see artist name/song title, etc., on the COMAND screen when using BT audio? I cannot. All I see is "BT transmission active." Other people can, and the 2012 manual indicates it is possible. I have an iPhone 4 running the latest update.

I see Track 1 Track 2 Track 3. I do not see song details with bluetooth streaming. Now I have only played with it and do not use it often. It is a nice feature.

Upgrades
Clarification on my upgrades:
1) I have a P2 vehicle - so no, not a kit - upgraded from my original 4300k bulbs to the late 2011 / 2012+ 500k bulbs...cost me $200 per probably not a really noticeable difference, but I figured if they are switching the newer models to those - must be a good reason for it so I asked for them.
2) While the car was in for my 30k mile service I asked them to upgrade me to the latest COMAND version so that I could get the BT Audio feature - that was done "under warranty" as there "may" have been an intermittent problem with my COMAND unit ....wifey works for dealer so your mileage may vary on using that as a valid issue to warrant an upgrade.
3) Haven't seen any noticeable changes to NAVI yet - I had 3d already on it specifically when in NYC was when I noticed it the most. Just got it back last night and only have a 8 mile commute to work so haven't really had time to explore any differences.
As for what version - I need to check and report back...I DO NOT see any track names or artists coming through on my COMAND screen - just "Track 9" etc. I am using it with my Droid Razr Maxx and I already have the Ipod integration kit so haven't checked to see if the track names would work with an Apple device via BT.

I think it's the upgrade on the phone. I had the same problem, but when i update my phone (iphone 4) to the latest, i got the titles on the BT Audio. My command hasn't been updated yet.

Interesting. I have the latest update on my iPhone 4. My COMAND doesn't even show the track number - just Bluetooth Transmission Active. It will show Track + 1 or Track - 1 for a moment when I advance or replay songs.

correct me if I'm wrong...but I believe there are two ways to connect an iphone. If you use the iphone plug, you will get all the information; if you use no plug or connect using the USB plug in your console, you will only see track 1, track 2 and so on. I'm now using an android, but I used the USB connection because I wanted a longer cord...the mercedes provided cords were just too short.

Got my Command software update yesterday while replacing all burl walnut trim due to fading.
Anyways, after complaining about bad cellphone reception… dealer updated my software as outlined in LI82.70-9-051455. Now I have track name, artist and my command will briefly display AC info on the bottom. (There's no elapsed time or song progress bar)
Before the update my BT would only show Bluetooth Audio Device connected.

Only bummer with BT audio, at least for me, is that it won't show the song and menu structure like it does if you were to plug an ipod in the ipod connector. As such, you can only step forwards and backwards one or multiple songs at a time, and in the order that they are saved to your phone. At least that's the way it is with my BB Bold 9700.
My COMAND SW was updated a couple of months ago and I think it is version 11.14.xx. I believe the only way to see the version number is to go into the engineering menus - which I'm tending to stay out of these days.

I see same screens as love mb. Also can see song name in MFD if Audio is selected, which is what I generally have selected and allows me to step up and down channels/songs on the steering wheel buttons.

Additionally, you might want to mention that this is a known issue and there was a bulletin issued from MB to rectify this problem LI82.70-9-051455.
Anyway, be nice but tell him that this is a problem that he needs to address as you use your phone in the car a lot. Good Luck!
PS: My music register space is now 10GB after this update.

I’m telling you, some of these SA are useless. You need to tell him that your phone works fine but when you connect thru BT in your car people complain about bad reception constantly. Make sure you make that point clear that this has nothing to do with your phone as when you call not using your car’s BT it works just fine.
