Hello, I also have some questions on making 20 inch wheels flush on a 2011 E550 4 Matic. I have 20x9 wheels front et 40 offset and 20x10 rear with et 42 offset. I have 235/35/20 front tires mounted on the wheels and have 275/30/20 tires that have been ordered for the rear.
I'm sure that I will need at least 5mm spacers in front but was wondering is 10mm spacers would work on the front since that would give et 30 offset. The 5mm spacers would give a et 35 offset.
It looks like I would have to keep the rears the way they are but was wondering whether the 275/30/20 tires with the 20x10 wheels et 42 offset will be a problem or rub.
For front, I would try 5mm spacers first. If it still rubs, then 10mm will fix it for sure. However, with et30 a 9" wide wheel will be passed front fender's edge of non-AMG W212 (et35 is as aggressive as one can get for front 9" wide wheel of E550/E350). As I mentioned before, 8.5" wide wheel would be a better - safer and guaranteed - fitment for your car when used with 235/35-20 front tires.
I just bought s212 4-matic and I wonder can I use my old car wheels?

I have a 2011 E550 4 Matic sedan and I am looking for tires to go on my wheels that are 20x9 with +40 offset front and 20x10 with +42 offset rear.
I have 4 brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 in 245/30/20's that I had for spares from another wheel setup I had for a different vehicle but I am having trouble finding the matching 285/25/20 tires to go with the front tires. I know at one time someone had a few pairs for sale but they are no longer available. If anyone is interested in these tires I may sell them because it look like I should get a bit thicker side wall.
I was considering using the 235/35/20's in front and 275/30/20's rear but was concerned about rubbing in the front. Others have said this shouldn't rub so I think 235/35/20 in front should be ok. I wasn't sure about 235/35/20 for a 20x9 front wheel though. I know 245/35/20 will rub.
I'm looking to purchase tires as soon as possible so any suggestions would be appreciated. I want to make sure I get the right tires.

I was being told to using 235/35/20 front, and 255/35/20 to avoid rubbing issue while driving over 80mph and still get very comfort. Therefore, i have this set up, and absolute right choise...

Whats up guys, i have a 2011 w212 E350 4matic and i was told that with a custom offset specifically for the car i could run front 245/30/20 and rear 285/25/20 without rubbing. If thats the case why cant i run a rear 275/30/20 without rubbing?

The reart are a little agressive. I wouldn't recommend lowering that much. You could get away with an inch or maybe half and inch "maybe"

I have a similar setup.
As the roads in my country not excellent as in Europe, I will not lower the car.
I went with
Giovanna MECCA FF, R20 8.5 ET35 rear and front.
Now I have 4 tyres Lexani 225/30 ZR20 85W XL LX-SEVEN.
The stock tyres are 245/45/R17.
My questions is that if I will change tyres, what will be my best option?
- Keep the same tyres dimensions: 225/30 front and rear.
- Change only the height from 30 to 35, to compensate for the fact I'm not lowering the car but also to give it a better look.
225/35 front and rear
- Keep the height to 30 and increase the width to 245 for front and rear.
245/30 front and rear
- change both 245/35 rear and front
- Keep the front to 225/30 and change the rear to 245/35
I would like to improve the look, protect a bit more the alloy wheels.

For staggered tires you need to go to tire manufacturer side and find rpm to compare. Experience shows that 3% difference is acceptable, but more will disable CC and eventually ESP will start flashing.

Im running 245/35/20 on all 4. No issues in the back. Can I modify the plate to make work? Has anyone done this?
I think they will be to pushed pushed out if I add spacers.

Your tires are much bigger diameter than original set and that's why the rub. Did you compare the sizes?
Just got home from the shop, I was rubbing the bottom of the plate under the spring only on body roll not on turning. we just ground down the rub points a bit and now I have no more rub!

If I want to stick to my stock wheels then better to install 245/30/R20 8.5inch all around.

The site above is generic calculator, who might be help in starting point, but tires are build with very loose tolerances and actuall tire can have dimension over 5% different than nominal.
That is why comparing rpm of actual tires is crucial.
I see, actually I have no issues with the current tyres 225/30/R20 8.5, no rubbing or anything else, but I would like to increase the tyre width to 245/30 R20
