E350 Bluetec - Clay, Micro Polish, and Opti Coat

Didn't let the dealer prep the car, just clayed, P085RD Menzerna polish, and Opti-Coat 2.0. Car looks absolutely AMAZING. I love black paint with no swirls!

very nice! I received mine 3 months ago just waxed. Planning to clay-> Wolfgang Paint Prep-> Wolfgang Sealant 3.0-> Griots best of Show when I get a chance this spring, hoping for it to look even better.

Nice! which color pad did you use? I have to PO885RD my hood and boot lid as light swirls are starting to appear; oh and did you use a 4" backing plate and pads anywhere?

Fantastic color, I think your car is plain black , non metallic .I agree, a black color w/o swirl marks is scrumptious

6" plate, 6.5 inch meguiars yellow pad (light polishing). P085RD will not really remove light swirls. My car was almost swirl free to start, just needed to remove some light water spots prior to sealing.

Only thing I wish my car had was leather... couldn't wait the extra 1.5 months for the order to come in.

Got ours out of the garage tonight. A whopping 180 miles so far. Been traveling for work and can't wait to stretch the cars legs a little on a road trip. 1500 mile trip planned for Memorial Day so should start to get broken in.

The leather is nice if only to get the vented seats and multi counter driver seat. But, I admire your routine of the wax/seal/clay. I look forward to sharing my cleaned up car with you also. Hope I can get all the bugs off the front!

Yeah I ordered ash leather and 401 vented seats. I was afraid the conquest cash was going to disappear and i needed the car asap so unfortunately I couldn't wait. Dealer luckily found the only one of 2 P2 cars coming in.

Wheels/tires.

Used old school armor all on the tires, yes armor all. I find it is one of the only products that doesn't sling everywhere and isn't super shiny/greasy.
Wheels were washed inside and out and then sprayed with armor all wheel protectant. Also sprayed the brake calipers and rotor hats. Did this on my 5 series and the rotor hats and calipers still look clean and shiny a year later (and bead water like crazy!) .

I've used a blue pad before with PO85rd with a blue pad and removed swirls on the door and light scratches (I've also achieved 80% scratch removal on my S with PO85RD and an orange pad)...I've just never done the hood or trunk lid on the E
Is the Meguiar's yellow equivalent to a general blue finishing polish pad?

The car looks stunning!

Thanks!

There are so many pad colors and different companies it's hard to keep track of. The meguiars yellow pad is a light polishing pad. I know lake country yellow pads are a more aggessive compounding pad. Like I said the car had almost 0 swirls to begin with, VPC does wash the cars so unfortunately it had a few. Mostly the issue was water spots and scratches from claying.
