And I have driven the car for 7 straight hours. Not a complaint about comfort.

I've driven much more comfortable cars than a Chevy Tahoe, on long distance trips. I've also taken many Benzes on long distance trips, and Lexus', and too many others to count, to find the my E the most comfortable.

Hey MCF, '07 Tahoe here too and although I agree that it's VERY comfortable...I must admit that the ride does not beat (though very close) the E... My wife's previous car was more sport-tuned and quicker (5.4-5.7 sec 0-60), so it use to be like, "Ahhhhh...back in the Tahoe", when giving her car back after taking it in for maintenance or whatever... But between the two it's really similar...but E does indeed edge out the Hoe (IMO)...

An E-Class obviously should be expected to be significantly more comfy than a Tahoe, but of course results will vary. Tahoe's are really comfortable though
One area I find my E to be second to none is in comfort and cruising capabilities.... except for on rough roads.

2012 E350 Sport and 2002 S500
I've had mine only for a few months, but used it mainly for long stretch driving (600+ miles at a time), and can say I've never felt more comfortable in a car! No back pain, muscle fatigue, etc. Prior to this I had a 2004 CLK 320 and currently also own a 2002 S500. Both do not compare. A buddy of mine who.also has some back issues loves the teutonic, supportive seats! I'm sorry you're not enjoying them.

If the seats in the E were just a bit softer they would be awesome. For me going from MB TEX seats in the E350 to leather in E550 was very small improcement.
The seats are just too hard. Almost makes me think that years ago when seats did not have all these adjustable support features they were better being on a little bit ridgid side. With all the moving supports that the drive dynamic seat has it could be made a lot softer and you could still adjust it to support your body in correct areas.
It is like MB engineers forgot that they could take a step back in seat firmness when they added all the nice features.

I have to agree with Arrie. The seats in the E-Class rank a definite 3rd when compared to BMW and GS450 seating. To describe them as "teutonic, supportive seats" is being very complimentary.
