No strip with your current setup. Darth look.

Think with your previous wheels, you had chrome barrels so the strip didn't look half bad. Still woulda ripped off the strips on your previous setup tho.

Strip needs to go.. IMO you need a little black paint on your wheel weights and some black valve stem caps too.

getting the blow dryer and fishing line ready...

good call/catch RNBRAD. two things with the weights:1) there are a ton, which hopefully doesn't reflect too much the quality of the rims and 2) they're white!!! looking for lug nuts that match too.

didn't want to murder it, but the dark side is ...

.... Now after seeing the comparo pics. I'll say that with your old setup, the strip really stood out and looked brilliant in working with those wheels. Your new setup has made the strip less at home.

However, I still vote for the strip. IMO it makes the car look more dynamic and beefy. Whenever I see an E63 (no strip), I feel that the sides look a bit naked and not as popping as even the regular E's. Though, I like a liiiitle tasteful chrome on my M-B's (they are M-B's after all, a little chrome is welcome).

Thanks for chiming in, K-A! there's definitely something i like about the angle of the strip and how it emphasizes the lean forward stance. i purposely went with silver center caps to try to keep balance with the strip and the rest of the silver/chrome (inside and out).

Good point. The W212 is such a raked and wedge shape, the chrome strip really emphasizes that indeed. I guess if one thinks it's too emphasized, the removal kind of mutes the effect a bit, which can be to some's liking. I like some tasteful decor so I decided to keep mine on, though I'm sure I'd find reasons to like my car without it if It didn't have it.
