What happened to the "Comfort Setting" for the driver's seat?

We just leased a 2012 E350 and am surprised that the driver's seat no longer automatically moves back when you park and get out of the car. This is a feature our 2005 E320 had and I don't see why they would remove it.

The steering wheel still moves up and out of the way but the seat does not.

I had it on my 2004 but it was gone on my 2008. I think the reason is that they could never get it to work correctly.

And I had it on my 05 E500 (didn't use it), but noticed only the steering wheel option is available on my 11 E550. I do use the steering wheel option, so I'm glad they kept that.

That sucks, oh well I guess. Wasn't a problem for me as I'm pretty tall (6'1") so my seat is already pretty far back but my wife who is 5'4" really liked that the seat moved back since she sits a lot closer to the steering wheel.

Did you check the manual? I just test drove a 2012. I was looking through the manual and I swear I saw it in there.

Haven't checked the manual yet (will be reading it cover to cover on a plane flight tomorrow ) but I went through all the options in the DIS and couldn't find it anywhere, whereas the steering wheel comfort setting was very easy to find and enable. You'd think it would be in the same place in the settings if it had it.

Make sure you turn on this comfort setting thru your menu on the dash

Another thing , if your seat is already at its furthest back position there is no way for it to move backwards lol

Recently, I programmed and assigned #1 for my setting . I noticed that my steering wheel no longer moved after the door opened .
I read thru manual about how memory funtions work and figured out how to bring it back . Well, I am scared to press #1 anymore lol

I get the feeling the lawyers have been at work at Mercedes. Auto seat moveback is gone, you have to hold the seat position selection for 15 seconds until the whole thing is done instead of just one push, the car dumps into P if you open the door when moving up to 9mph, auto headlight dimming dies when under 30mph.

Pretty soon they won't let us start the engine because a moving vehicle is too dangerous.

i thought my steering wheel comfort setting wasn't working either. turns out the steering wheel was at the max 'up' position so comfort setting couldn't work lol. at 6'2, i don't think either comfort setting would be of use to me anyways
