So i managed to get my conservative wife a new E550. This car is the nicest thing I have ever owned.



I have a corvette for track days - a built motor/big turbo RSTi for street, and a Forester that soon will be the rally cross car.

I would love to tune this car.

EDIT - OK - so the car is FANTASTIC of course. And it's unlikely she who must be obeyed will want 70 more HP. Maybe in a few years!

 

Turbo engines should be tuned easier than atmospherical ones . You can try Carlsson kits, my dealer told me that it would not void the warranty .
Even 1.8 liter engine 204 HP can be boosted up to 240 HP and torque can put out 400 NM from 310 Nm

PCM Tuning is another option but you can get higher HP gains but in long term this could claim your tranny or it goes w/o saying that your factory warranty ends when you go for aftermarket tuning

 

You've got an interesting collection. I've got a soft spot for the Forester XT.

Is that big turbo STI very streetable?

 

I have heard that Renntech has an upgraded tune available worth 70 horsepower & 80 ft/lbs of torque but I don't know that for a fact. I also heard it was around $2,800.

 

It's an 06 STi w/ a moderate sized turbo - '30R stock location'

Exhaust is quiet - made 360/320 at the last tune.

Very streetable - clean quiet 25k car.

But I just bought a swapped 98 RS - couldn't resist. It's stripped, makes about 400 HP and is pretty much a track car.

I will likely put the STi back to stock and sell the mods. The RSti makes a better (cheaper to insure/property tax etc) project car.

 

The Forester is the Swiss Army Knife of cars. All stock and off the line it just goes 4.44's and AWD

A couple years ago I was within hairs of buying a Forester XT. My petty side took over though and couldn't get past the lesbian-mobile stigma. If people knew what that thing is capable of.

 

Curious to know as well, got the wife a 2012 E550 4matic too. Your STi sounds like fun, always wanted a Subaru but never got around to get one due to weak local dealers.

Well it's still a 4.6L twin turbo...

 

Those were all my cars. I sold the blue one a while ago - replaced the Forester w/ a E30 - and the RSTI beast kept breaking so I parted it out. I will have another Subaru soon though -probably a BRZ for my son and a new STI when the 15's come out.

But for now I only have the E.

It is a pig of sorts - but 28 MPG on the highway and ...I am more than satisfied

Beautiful car! I love that engine as well! I am wanting a 2012 or newer E550 Coupe/Convertible as my next car.
