Some good news for iPhone owners!
I'm a developer and I have the new iOS6 Beta installed on my 4S. Hopped in my E the other day and noticed a strange noise. Looked at the COMAND screen, and saw an envelope symbol to the left of the "READY" cell phone status indicator. I went to the phone menu and at the bottom "Text Messages" was there. I selected it and was able to read text messages from my iPhone.
Some things:
- It only displayed incoming texts that I received while my phone was connected to Bluetooth.
- There's no way to reply (that I saw)
- Kind of a hassle to go to the phone menu to select "Text Messages" every time a text arrived.
I'll try to post some photos later!
Also, if anyone wants to upgrade their iPhones to iOS6 just for the text message feature, I would advise you not to do so right now. iOS6 is a very rough beta and is not as stable as the existing iOS 5.1.1. If you're not a developer, I suggest waiting till' fall when it's released to the public.

The biggest differences are you will be able to connect to internet and enable bluetooth streaming
This is really good news, I would like to hear same as Symbian lol

My wife says this would be useful for her. She leaves her phone in her purse in the car and uses BT for calls but when she got a text, she had to look for the phone. This way, she can see what the text is and then decide if it's important enough to get the phone out.

Dont believe so. Apple announced the other week at WWDC that in the next few years they would be working with some auto makers to put in a button just for Siri. BTW how do you get her to read your texts?? I ask and it says "heres your message from XXXX...." and never reads the actual text

If you have "Show Preview" off in Settings > Notifications > Messages she wont read it out loud... it's kinda stupid that she does not indicate that in any way.
