American Muscle Cars

I am not a fan of muscle cars in general, but spending 50 hours polishing this one kind of grew on me.

Hey - looks and style are always subjective.
I just read a post on AudiWorld Forum where he compared the looks of the E350/550 to a Honda Accord.

Great analogy! I loved hot wheels when I was a kid - setting up the track to run down the stairway, and mom yelling when she tripped over the cars that we forgot to pick up.

I disagree with your assessment. While there may be some people that thrive on the attention of others most muscle car / harley owners just dig the heritage or are trying to relive their youth with the cars / bikes they always wanted growing up. Sure, some are stuck in the 50's / 60's as their glory days but not looking for attention
My point exactly--even the luxurious sedan E550 will, in the hands of a good driver, compete favorably with most of these "muscle" cars. When you have to advertise like these cars do, you're compensating for something, just like the loud bikers. "Look at me, look at me, pleazzzzzzz look at me"

That's true, but from my experience, it's a small percentage of MB drivers. Most that I've met at meets and club events don't have a whiff of this about them at all. They love the cars for various reasons, but showing off to someone generally isn't one of them.

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014! E63S 14, Audi S8 13, CLS63 12, E550 12, C63 09, all tuned
I have a CLS 63 with 670 HP tune. I love pulling up to a Shelby at light and watch him struggling to keep up.

Not to mention, the E looks nothing like an Accord. If you want to knock it, at least say it looks like a Camry which is closer to the truth. The Accord looks more like a 5-Series.... and of course, the ever so bland A6.
Hmm..... I'm sure the Shelby guy's also smiling that a big Benz AMG needed a big tune to keep up with his rickety ole' thing?

Not interested at all in these cars. They are so crass in terms of the aggressive look--chest thumping is putting it mildly. Seems like they appeal to the same crew that drive Harleys without mufflers--desperately looking for attention through volume and/or visual intimidation.
Much prefer the various less conspicuous muscle cars from MB, BMW, Audi and others.

Reminds me of the South Park Harley episode

I caught up with a Camaro SS on twisty country road last week in my C63 renntech mod 2009, he took off , at the end of his 15 mile run, at speeds I shall not say, he did not think my AMG was boring.
