Tirerack is sub $1500 for four 17" wheels, tpms and Blizzaks.

Just keep that in mind as a baseline.

I wasn't thrilled with the guy I had on the phone, he was not too interested in giving me a bunch of choices, but I did write this one down:

Sport Edition 17" F7 wheels, TPMS and Blizzak 235/45/17 for $1481

Here are the wheels:

Thanks Mike,
I had seen new takeoff 350 bluetec wheels before. Mine is 4Matic.
?? What does BlueTec have stock as it's rear wheel drive, what size rims
and what size tires, non-staggered (all the same size) as required for 4Matic?
Are they runflats or regular?

Thanks

You can look on the tirerack website yourself and mix and match based on what look you want for a rim and what tires you prefer.

After researching tires (knew I didn't need Blizzaks or Pirelli Winters, being in South Eastern, NY) I went with the Dunlop Winters 3D's mounted with TPMS on Moda EB1 wheels. The Moda's according to the TR website are sold out for the season...not sure what that means as far as when the season runs - maybe a call to them will shed some light if they anticipate getting anymore in - those were the nicest/plainest looking - and easiest to clean for winter wheels IMO.

All Bluetecs have 17" as stock. 17" x 8" I believe, may be 8.5" though. Tire size all around is 245/45/17, non-staggered. And yes, they are runflats. Should work on the 4Matic no problem.

Wheels

Not exactly sure what you are looking for - but if a 5 spoke wheel is what you are after the Sport F11 or the Elbrus I02 are nice candidates as well. The F7 appears to have a bit of a raised center cap area - not sure if that is the look you were going for, the F11 is close, but has a less pronounced center cap. The Elbrus look like it could've been an MB wheel on any one of our cars right from the factory. Others to look at arre RONAL - they actually make the 5 spoke AMG wheels that come with the SPort/WHeel package. ANother option like the Elbrus is the MODA EB1 -that was what I liked most about it - that it didn't look out of place on the car...I actually replaced the MODA center caps with the left over blue wreath caps I had and most people wouldn't know they weren't stock wheels. These wheels are all relatively inexpensive and provide a nice look for your winter swap-out.

Thanks looks nice, strange the sites says the wheels "are not available for your 2012 Mercedes E550 4matic".

Yes, the F11 and I02 are good choices, would the original Mercedes cap from my 18 inch fit I wonder. And any experience with these tire pressure monitors, they simply work from tire rack?

Cool Thanks

Thanks Mike , Johnny, and others.
Very informative info.
Johnny those are great options as my head ws spinning from looking at
all the wheel companies . Those are all styles I like and seem like good
quality for the money like Elbris I02 is a high pressure cast one piece unit.

Johnny, the one that I had trouble finding was RONAL, not at Tirerack and
searched/ found UK site but no US dealers. Liked the R41, R42, R43, R48.
How can I find US dealers/pricing?
Do they have a clone of the OEM AMG replica 18" split 5 spoke (the E sport package wheel)? Do they make that wheel for OEM MB use? I ordered that on my E but wished they made it in a 17".

Thanks again all.
P.S. Are TPMS from Ebay, new or used, a reasonable alternative/ anybody
gone that route?

I have the tire rack TPMS and they work perfectly fine with the MB system. Not sure how much you'd save by going with Ebay over tire rack - since then you'll have to pay extra to have the tires mounted and balanced locally - vs it all being included via tire rack.

Good point, thanks.

Is there a US site for Ronal wheels? They sound very interesting if they do the OEM AMG wheels.
thanks
