the cupholders don't even bother me.....and they come in handy for holding cups too.....
but no big gulps lol.......and plus the more you push on the gas.....the less you notice little things like that.....
I also really have gotten used to the dial temp control versus the tab control in the E class.....
it's even a bit easier to adjust the temps....

I have no inside info. I guess I'm just hoping that MB won't fix what isn't broken. The other changes (central clock, metalic buttons) are near-concensus improvements. Eliminating the hidden cupholders would not be.

that really reminds me the other night i let the cupholder door half opened, the ashtray half was closed. reason why i'm doing this is easier for me to put both my wallet and phone in when i jump in the car. but my wife closed it for me and she said it looks cheap by leaving it opened .

Like new dash
I like the new dash design as the fuel gauge and electic gauge are way too small. Actually, I never look at the clock because I use the digital one on the COMAND screen. Clock does seem to go better in the center of the stack.
However, I wish someone would standardize the location for the warning light switches for all cars.
Also, the row of buttons on the bottom of the center stack are really hard to read-should be angled outward.
The current black buttons look much better than the "silver" ones. Unfortunately the silver/aluminum buttons in most cars look like plastic.
I am not a fan of BMW and didn't even put on my top 10 list of cars to look at. If I had seen the dash pictured above, I would have run from it. IMO, plain, simple, cheap, ugly.
