My Epic Drive to Work in my E550 Video

Ok, so I had a little free time this week and been itching to make a video of my car. I took some of the footage I already had and added some new one. I can't help myself, I love looking at my car. I know I have a problem.

Great work. I think you did an awesome job. And hey, if that's the case, we all have problems.

Great video

I like the way your wheels roll , it's like these spokes are flying in air , hoovering lol
I don't think you have a problem with looking your car , each time I see a new MB , this is what I do as well

Nice video, but I have to comment on the BOOM BOX in the garage on the shelf. Those things are going for big money on Ebay...lol I'm going with mid 80's??? Car looks badass, and I enjoyed watching.

Nice vid. And i thought i was too old to luv my car as much as i do. Rodrigo u running 50s? Just messing.

Love the wheels. Love the way they look like spinners and start rotating differently at different speeds. Need a moving shot of my ride.

Wait, those weren't Spinners? What wheels are those? If those aren't spinners, there's some serious Optical Illusion going on.

those aren't spinners and optical illusion it is. if you pay closer attention to most wheels on the street, you'll see something similar. but only pay attention when you are not driving, though .

The effect is created by the frame rate of the camera. Remember the camera is creating a "motion picture", that is a series of still pictures snapped x times per second.

If the camera is taking pictures at 24frames/sec (standard for movies), and the car's wheels are turning at the same rate or a multiple of that rate, the wheel would be in the exact same position each time the camera took a picture. The wheel would appear not to be moving at all.

Sub multiples produce a similar effect on the spokes. For example if the car is travelling at a speed where a spoke is top dead center for frame 1 and the next spoke, or any other spoke, is top dead center for frame 2, etc, the spokes would appear not to be moving at all.

You don't see this effect with the eye because our eyes don't have a frame rate unless you blink.

Regards,
Don

DAMN!

That's a great little video. Left me wanting more.

Excellent videography and - especially - the editing. You in the business or something?

Hype- I think you should consider hiring this gentleman for your next photo-shoot, this time in full motion.

Well done!

Glad to hear that most of you liked it. To answer a few of the questions.

No the wheels do not have spinners. It is an optical illusion, a nice effect, but totally unintentional.

I did not know there was a demand for old boom boxes. I won't be selling mine anytime soon. Lots a good memories with that boom box.

Not in the business of making videos. Just a hobby of mine.

And last but not least. The exhaust sound. It is hard to actually capture the exhaust sound with all the wind noise. Let's just say there was some sound editing done there.
