New Lexus front design?
What's everyone's opinion on the new Lexus front bumper/grill design?
I'm not impressed at all quite honestly. Lexus was in bad need of an overall design change as they have fallen way behind. They still have a top perfomance maintenance record though.

It is really ugly and makes me less likely to purchase a Lexus in future. However, you can't beat the reliability record of Toyota/Lexus.
I understand it is called a Spindle grill and is reflective of the companies origins in the textile industry. Not sure, but think a spindle is the thing onto which thread is wound or from which thread is taken. Regardless, has nothing to do with automobiles.

I gave Lexus and Infinity both a hard look this last time around and couldn't get past the looks of either one They just look like regular cars to me...nothing special

Terrible. Especially on a Lexus. Like a homely car with a very over-tried/desperate front end. Looks like it's trying to have a Samurai face. IMO it won't age well either.

The GS-F Sport was on my short list before I bought my e-class a couple of months ago. The car drove well and has good perceived reliability, but I couldn't get past that front fascia. The over-styled front (if you can call it that) also is at odds with the bland Hyundai-looking rear. I think the non F-Sport's look slightly better with the fog lights. The look is also not too bad on the ES and LS either. It may take some time, but I think most people will eventually warm up to it. Remember a few years ago when Audi switched their corporate grill? It first looked like an over-sized nose on an already front-heavy car. With time and minor tweaks, they have gotten it to something which looks good IMO.

lexus is now looking more and more like toyota. it's something lexus owners absolutely do not want to see.
this would've been great 15-20 years ago when i was still a riceboy cruising japanese imports with cheap body kit cruising down freeway 60 and 10. sometimes 57. the new lexus design would've saved me some real dough coz the body kit and grill are now standard.

certainly seems a bit over aggressive on the front end there..too busy and sculpted...but then again, I have never really been a fan of the lexus......
