Upgrade my command center so I can stream music
Ok so I found out why my 2011 eclass can not stream music is because my command unit needs to be updated (information from different threads) I took this information to MB and they would not update my software because they said my car did not come with this update and they didn't want to risk messing up the Comand unit. Did any one else have this problem? Any suggestions?

My Bluetec can do bluetooth streaming.IIRC its build date is March 2011.If your build date is the same or later you might not have a serious problem.

Wow.. seems like they just don't want to bother with it.. There should be no reason that your command unit will be messed up. Sounds like they are just making some stupid excuse up.

I also tried to get my dealer to update the command sw and was met with strong resistance. After researching this forum I found how to change the setting and am now streaming music from my gs3.
My car is a e550 2010..

Tell the dealer you are having intermittent voice issues with the phone connection. Tell them that the caller cuts out and sometimes they can't hear you either. This is good enough to get the Service Manager to do a command update to correct the problem. If it isn't, find a new dealer for your service.

I couldn't agree with you anymore. That was my first experience at that MB Service Dept. I had also asked if they could figure out why the area around the rear speakers rattle when music plays (Mid Volume) and were unable to fix it.

I have a 2010 e550 that I intially enabled BT music through the engineering menu. Once I swithched to the iphone 5 it worked but was very buggy. I told the dealership I was havnig a problem and neglected to tell them about the engineering hack or the fact the the 2010 was never advertised with this feature. Anyways they were very helpful and performed the software updates without question and now my car stream BT audio flawlessly. I agree with a previous post, tell them you're having intermittent connectivity problems and then their hands are tied. They have to help you

Kinda disappointing that its not standard on a MB...without having to mess with the engineering settings.
My previous car was a 2010 Camry..I paid extra for the BT radio/telephone option but streaming wasn't a problem and was even able to skip to next song from steering wheel controls..I can't seem to get the controls to work from steering wheel or radio itself in the E but I guess it's better than not being able to stream at all.
