Whispbar Roof Rails/Rack - anyone use them? (for E350 Wagon)

Now that the E350 Wagon has arrived (finally and hooray!) gonna need a roof rack system to handle the skis, etc.

Was looking around and came across these:

http://www.whispbar.ca/cars/mercedes...agonrails-6167

The "rail bar" looks like a good option - flush (so not as ugly if i leave it on for a few months)

Anyone have/try/use these?

Any other suggestions? (ie: how are the OEM rails?)

thx.

I can only speak towards the stock rack system.....I have the
basic roof rack and the HUGE coffin that goes on top....

I can dig up some pix if you need me too.
The attachment points are great; don't touch the roof, kind of floats,
for lack of a better term..

I'm jealous! I want to go ride too!!!

Hype - how much were the OEM racks you have? And...btw I have caught your sickness. All I could think of after looking at the rack in the link above was that car needs wheels.

I use Whispbar on my Cayenne. In the US, these are distributed by Yakima (http://yakima.com/learn/whispbar) I have the Porsche factory w/o rail option (3S5) and use the Whispbar http://yakima.com/shop/baserack/whispbar-s17-thru

Highly recommend them. Low profile and truly quiet. I wouldn't consider anything else (unless you like ugly and lots of noise )

Depends on the brand of ski rack you want to fit to the Whispbar but if you want a Yakima, then go to the website (http://yakima.com/) and select 'fit my car.' After you select your E350 wagon, then select that you already have the factory side rails, and then check off 'snow' and then 'roof.' When you get to the next page, then choose the Yakima Whispbar S45. It'll take you to the next page and you can select which ski rack you want (FatCat or Powderhound, etc..)
