New personal best mpg
Hey everyone
I had my car (2010 E550) tuned with Eurocharged a few weeks ago. This is the first highway trip I've taken since...29.2 MPG over 63 miles average speed 71 mph! This is a definite improvement compared to before (would typically average 24-25mpg). Quite amazing for a NA 5.5L engine with all 8 cylinders running the whole time!

lol I can understand your skepticism but I assure you I have no affiliation with the company or anything to gain...i paid the $645 for the tune during the holiday special a few weeks ago and was excited with the results. I can say the difference in acceleration is not that much but the mpg increase is cool. No trick roads...just I-4 from Orlando to Tampa. Hit the reset button once I was at cruising speeds and let the distronic modulate the gas. The MPG was slowly climbing the entire way and hit that number after pulling off the highway.

Tunings I've seen never seem to advertise an mpg savings, more like response, hp and torque gains. I think what you might be seeing is a a mercedes computer calculating mpg differently due to tuning changes, that is if it is the only change.
In my experience the MB computer mpg is little higher than what I calculate at the pump.

I have 400 miles on my '13 E350, just drove down to Atlantic City and back about 200 miles round trip, doing an avg of 68mph (this was the number on the display) and managed to get 29.4mpg. I was shocked but I can have a light foot when I want. On the other hand, when my wife drives around, she is down around 17mpg on all her short runs. One of the reasons for not getting a 2011 with 6k miles was for the direct injection and the price difference was not all that big to get a new car

That's cool , tuned cars slightly have better MPG due to increasing torque values . Mine is tuned by Carlsson as well

I do not know the exact details of the tune...you would have to ask the company. But I did specify to the tuner that I use 93 octane.

Fill it up all the way to the cap. Go drive and after fill up the same way and calculate your actual MPG. You will probably find it around 26 MPG, which is more realistic.
