mbrace
mbrace
So, I have a 2011 E550 coupe. My friend bought a 2013 C with mbrace. I fell in love with it. Does anyone think there will be an upgrade to the COMAND to pull in features of mbrace?
Would a retrofit work?

Is there a new feature in Mbrace on the 2013s, or more to the point, what feature did you fall in love with?
I know I have it in my 2010 e350, in fact I thought that all Es have it but maybe you are referring to something new.

I guess the unlocking feature from a phone, sending directions to my car, being able to track it if stolen.
The FaceBook integration and the other stuff is pretty cool too.

I'm pretty sure you have all that. You need to turn it on and get your acct number and pin to enable the smart phone app.
Awesome, I appreciate that. The 2013 COMAND looks different. Is there a way to upgrade to that?
My gf's dad has a 2013 S550 and I was playing with his COMAND. It is not overly different, but looks "newer"
With subscribing to mbrace, can I have my MB dealer update my COMAND or does something need to break / have a problem?

I'm pretty sure that the most recent version (2013) has several cool, new, features. The ability to track where you're vehicle is and/or has been sounds interesting. The version I have has several interesting features....automatic accident notification is the most important to me.That feature, alone, was enough to convince me to sign up.Stolen car recovery and the ability to send directions to the vehicle's nav system are just icing on the cake.I wouldn't be without it.
i have a 2010 e550 coupe and was trying to do the same thing your asking but the dealer told me that it has to be fited from the factory with alot of things and if not fited from birth then it cant be installed.. just letting you know what i was told.. if theres another way i dont know..

I also got the Mbrace for my 2011 E350 for the reason of the automatic accident notification. Other features are cool but not that important. I did use the Google map function a few times to send a target to my NAVI.
I traded that car in and got me a 2010 E550, which came with the teleaid "Cars Connected" or something like that. It also has the accident notification and remote car unlocking / locking function but what it has that the Mbrace does not (other than paying way more) is that I can call them for an address and they will beam it down to my car. I don't need to do it using Google maps in my computer. Also, I can actually hear them when with the Mbrace I had great difficulties with this with volume turned all the way up.
