Notes for future Googlers:
- Get the proper E-torx sockets instead of the 12-spline universals. They cost the same and they'll mangle the screw heads less.
- The E-torx socket sizes needed are E-10, E-12, and E-16. E-torx sizes have no direct correlation to dimensional measurements.
- Break the 21mm (or 22mm?*) strut rod locknut loose before you start removing anything else, it's much easier with the weight of the car on the strut rod.
- You ABSOLUTELY need a socket with external hex flats (like spark plug sockets have), an offset box wrench, or a GearWrench-style open socket to re-install the strut rod locknut. Once the nylock insert or the distorted threads of the locknut start to grab the threads on the strut rod, the strut rod will just spin unless you counter-torque it with a Torx bit (a T-55, if I remember correctly).
