2014 Sport White on black
I'M BACK.....
After a six year hiatus, I am back (sold my 2002 C-class in 2006). This time I bought a 2012 E350 Sport (S01/PI, 837, 104, 321 993) used with 7K miles. Color is Steel grey (755), Ash MB-Tex leather and black ash wood trim (736). I sold my 2008 M35(fully loaded) after seeing a new E350 sport. Never thought I'd go back to MBZ, almost purchased 2012 GS350 or M37 but when I saw the sport (not many around in my neighborhood) I decided to get it. Only upgrades so far(had the car for only a few months) are the Shatz chrome door accents (over the door handles) they really bring out the window and door chrome accents.
What are you thoughts on the 2014 E-class?

Welcome back, I just traded my 2010 Eclass 4MATIC Sport for a 2012 Eclass 4MATIC Sport. MB seems to have reached a bit too far on the sedans (Palladium Silver looks alright though). However the new front ends look good and also more balanced on the wagons.

What do you think of the quality of the new E350?
Not sure about the quality of external parts. I had the car for a short period of time and noticed rock dents in the front bumper and chrome grill. Also, my 2008 M35 had a 9" navigation monitor and back-up camera. The E350 seems to have less technology. However, the ride in sport mode is great. Just trying to get used of the price based on the price of the 2008 and the stuff that comes with it. The 2008 sticker was $42K and the 2012 MBZ was $56K but I can see a quality difference between the two in terms of cabin quietness, technology and ride quality and overall my last car seems to be better. But since I have had the car for a short period of time maybe I need to evaluate longer. But I can tell you that I get much better mileage (M35 with 3.5 engine gave me 280HP and an average 22MPG but the E gives me more than 26 MPG). Also, I love the color combination and sound system in my benz.

Welcome back
Having scrutinizing the new FL W212 , I have decided to stick to my car , there is nothing wrong with the new model aside from these followings Avantgarde grill, 3 way gauge cluster, I-Pad like Comand screen, deletion pontoon of fenders lol
BTW, yet another disappointment in the tail lamps , in our models when you wait at the lights , both fender and trunk side light up but in FL W212 I saw only fender side lighted up
Come on , why would you ever do that

Agree! I really don't understand why Mercs don't come standard with leather. Maybe even an option for a quality fabric interior. Pleather is just crazy, though!

M-B Tex is a great feeling material and will last a lifetime with little care and not get that "old wrinkly" look of leather. The biggest problem with it is that it smells terrible after the new-car smell wears off. It's a very non-luxurious smell that gives kind of a headache. If they could make it smell like real leather then IMO it would be an ultimate choice (which is impossible since it's inherently plastic). It's really remarkable how soft and plush it is for vinyl.
