Hey guys! So this may all be in my head but im just curious so thought id ask.
Lately when cornering i notice a distinct low hissing sound coming from the left 'gripper' or whatever you call it when it curves in to hold me in the corners. It also seems to deflate soon after rather then holding in position through the whole curve (IE: Cloverleaf exit, hard right and it grips as i turn in, but within a second or two its back to normal even tho im still turning for another 10-15 seconds).
I havent really been able to compare to the right side, turns at a street corner dont engage it for a long enough time to tell if it 'stays', and as i dont have a long left turn to take i cant really say for sure. However i dont hear any hiss when it adjusts.
Has this happened to anyone before? Am i just imagining that the left side used to stay engaged through a whole turn? I havent been taking corners nearly as aggressively for a while now (damn MN winter just ended....) so just thought id ask before going into the dealership and having them spend a while looking at it...
Time for a trip to the dealer. My MY2011 E550 had the same problem on the left side. They had to pull the seat, replace the air bladder and reinstall. Exact symptoms I experiences...hissing, soft support. Go see your local SM.

Ok. Setting up an appointment for tomorrow after work. What was the turn around time on yours? Assume its not something most dealers can do with stock parts, will have to order stuff.....Dont want to get stuck with a base C class for a week

I am having problems with my dynamic seat leaking down, but not isolated to the right bolster. Each time that I get back in the car after being out for an hour, or so, I have to hit the memory button to get the seat back my settings (dynamic seat settings). In the last couple of days I've noticed that my seat base extension deflates pretty quickly. Oh, and I have the bump in the seat buttons caused by the heater leap element, too. I also notice that my dynamic seat adjustments will rue-adjust while I'm running down the highway!

Turnaround was two days for mine. They had the part ordered before I dropped off which probably helped. I kept the car for a few days before taking in.

On mine I've always had to hit the button each time I got in the car...

My local dealer told me they cannot repair the air bladder and I will require a new seat for $7,000. I was like that cannot be right
Incorporated into seat cover need VIN to confirm replacement part #. Separately, rear center valve block is replaceable (0008005378) behind control unit shown in second photo.

Sounds more like they don't want to perform the work... I replaced the dynamic bolster bladders due to leaks. There's an internal frame which contains the lower lumber and dynamic bolster wings/bladders, roughly ~$400 for the part. It requires, nearly, fully stripping the seat back. The massage and upper lumber bladders are separate as is the thigh bolster.

You could buy a Rolex for that price
Sorry , I knew when those seats go wrong they put some dents on the purse but I didn't realize it would be that much
Best of wishes
My ‘04 E500 and 2010 E550 both lost bolster bladders. So far the 2014 E550 is still going strong. It’s not worth it to replace them and the DIY repair looks nightmarish.
