2010 E350 drivers seat "noise"
I had great feedback when I wrote on here regarding a COMAND issue I was having about a year ago, and now wanted to write about a drivers seat noise, that I always had, but is now driving me more and more crazy.
Basically, I am a big guy, driving this car, and the drivers seat (I usually drive alone) constantly makes these nagging noises when I am driving it. It sounds like plastic is breaking, or something is cracking.
I brought it to the dealership at least a half dozen times, even complained to corporate, and both the dealer and mbusa think that I am crazy.
Recently, the dealer had one of their tech's drive the car with me, and to be honest, I did not hear any particular noises that I am accustomed to. The guy was much skinnier than me, and it seems to me, that big guys have big problems. The dealer said that nothing is wrong with my car, its just the bottom plastic coverings rubbing up against the leather.
I drove many many C, E, and even S class Mercedes, and have yet to hear or experience the same noise that I am having. So I am reaching out to you guys here in the forum. Any "bigger/heavier" guys have experienced this noise phenomenon that I am having?
Feedback would be appreciated!!
The 2010 E is notorious for its rattles and noises. I traded my 2010 in about a year after buying it. The dealer couldn't or wouldn't fix any of the noises. And for what these cars cost, it's ridiculous.
BMW's F10 5 series platform does not suffer from the bottomless pit of the W212.
Keep on the dealer. I'm hoping your car is leased. Good luck, however!
I searched on here and other forums and found that there is a bracket in the seat that may be broken. Turns out after much argument that mine was. They replaced the bracket and the sound is gone... most of the time. Every now and then i hear it for a sec or two...so not sure if it broke again or something else.
