Real world mpg-2012 E350
My 2012 E350 Sport has turned 11,000 mi. Just returned from an 1175 mi trip from N.C. to Cleveland and return. 950 mi was on I77 through Va. & W. Va.. 225 mi was in and around Cleveland.
Total mpg for trip was 31.8 mpg. Mileage for Freeway travel was 34.1 going & returning. Speeds were @ 65-70 mph whenever possible.
Before trip had A service done and changed from Factory fill Mobil 1(which is 5-W40) to Mobil 1 0W40. Also put 1 bottle of TECHRON in gas tank. Noticed a slight improvement (1-2) mpg improvement in highway mileage. I don't have any proof that my service ETC. had any bearing on this. Just reporting the facts. Whatever the reason I am very pleased. After previous experiments I have noticed a dropoff in mpg over 70 mph. I am not an economy nut but as I had plenty of time on this trip thought that I would try 65-70 mph. JUST THE FACTS.

It's not just the car, it's how you drive. The use of auto speed control and reasonable speed make for good mileage. Obviously you are a good driver.

I got it last Tuesday. Hype, you have to try this new generation 991S with PDK. It's night and day difference compared to the 997.2S. This car may look the the same but it's 90% new including the whole platform. There is a Motor Trend article written last July or Aug. titled "Best Driver's Car". You should read it. This Porsche came out on top against 8 other competitors. If equipped with Sport Chrono with the launch feature this car will do 0 to 60 in 3.7 sec.

Techron is a great detergent for the fuel system. If you use a top-tier gasoline, you are already getting a detergent package. Check the Bobtheoilguy.com site. You may go for an even lighter weight synthetic oil. Prior generations of the E class had a higher tire pressure recommendation for sustained high-speed driving.

That's pretty damn impressive MPG per HP ratio. It's significantly higher than what is officially claimed as the cars MPG, correct?

Running my E550 41 miles to work each way @ ~80mph and averaging 22.7mpg over the last 2800 miles. Rather spirited driver so can't complain a bit.

My 2010 550 gives me about 24 mpg with hwy driving 78 mph. I used to have a 2011 350 and it gave me about 2 mpg more.
I prefer the feeling when I step on the gas pedal over the 2 mpg loss in fuel economy...
