Dorky badge removal

Can this "Blue Efficiency" badge be removed w/o leaving a mark?

Yes, very easily by easing dental floss and goo gone. At first I thought it would leave a hole behind like the three pointed star does, but it is held on by adhesive. I removed the blue efficiency badges along with the "E350" on the back.

Sure. As long as the car is fairly new you shouldn't see any residual marks.

Took mine off with my wife's hair drier. Just heat the badges and gently easy off. No marks at all.

I also like the debagged car. I did mine and I am happy I did it.

Thumbs up Follow up

RESULTS: DONE! Used a hair dryer, peeled those suckers right off. Then a little bug & tar remover and WD40 removed any residual adhesive. Then some spray polish and it looks good as new. In fact much BETTER than new. :-)
Thanks.

Look at the pic in the original post. Now, imagine the badge gone. Now you "get the picture"?

I have a 2011 e550. If I pull the badging off, think there will be some paint fade makes? Mine is black.

There may be some slight fade, it really depends on how long your car has sat in direct sunlight, if it is garage kept then you should be fine. I know when I debadged mine there was slight fading for the first day but after really wiping it down it is gone and looks flawless. It's worth a shot, the badges can always go back on if you need to.

I had mine taken off, it's also an 11 550, and there were, and still are shadow marks that you can see......it's a bit worse when the sun hits it just right, but it doesn't bother me because I'm selling/trading it soon anyway....
I wish the dumbo factory would release cars with no badge......like all the other car makers
I'm thinking it will show, depending on how you address the left over glue..

good luck!

Your paint has faded over the years and your exposed paint (i.e. the paint not under the badge) will have swirls while the paint under the badges will be pristine.

The only way to reduce the difference is to properly detail the rest of the car.
