Problem with my MULTICONTOUR Seats?

I have a 2012 with the multicontour seats. I have to push the button to adjust/inflate the lumbar and thigh support for my seat everyday. It seems the balloons in the seat deflate automatically by the next morning. Is this normal? Or do I have a problem with my seats?

I dont know if its normal but mine does the same too.
I dont use the either support so it has never bothered me enough to go get it checked out and I always forget to ask about it when I take the car in for service.
For now you can set and save the desired thigh and lumbar support, when you start the car you can just press that memory button.
If you get it fixed let me know.

I use my lumbar and massage features daily...some days I have to inflate the lumbar support morning, noon and night for e drive to / from work and lunch and other times it will stay inflated for days. No rhyme or reason. I have my service manager check it out over and extended weekend and he couldn't replicate the issue...stayed fully inflated for him. I have just gotten into the habit of always hitting the buttons to inflate / turn on the massage feature.

Yeah, I've experienced the same thing as you. Sometimes I have to inflate the lumbar more than once during the day because it slowly deflates. Sometimes when I push the button nothing happens. I saw that there was a service bulletin on the multicontour seats for the S-Class because of a problem with the resistors, but I haven't seen a bulletin for our cars.

Mercedes-Benz has taken so much content out of the E class that it's hard to say, but IIRC the seat bladder settings were part of the seat memory on my W211 E class - those settings may have (probably were) tied to key fob memory (removed in the W212). The seat bladders seemed to have a mind of their own even in the W211, and behavior seems about the same in my 2011 E550 - sometimes the bladder inflates, and some times it doesn't.

Both front seats multicontour?? IIRC, multicontour was only available for the driver's seat in 2011 - or was that drive dynamic?

The 2012 is the same. Only the driver's seat is multicontour/dynamic with massage. The passenger seat just has the standard lumbar support.

To the OP and others having the same problem, you might want to take it in to the dealer. I have multicontour seats also and they keep their setting - but I don't have the dynamic bolsters or massager running daily (got tired of those within 1 week of owning the vehicle), so I don't know if that is part of your problem.

Have the same problem on the cushion length, it deflates daily.

Me too

Same problem here on my 2012 diesel, I plan to ask the dealer next time I take it in.

I had to replace the pump in the seats TWICE. After replacing it for the 2nd time, I decided to turn it off and never use the feature again. When the pump is not working, you feel air being blown on your hands through the vents while taking a turn when the the seats are supposed to inflate. I suggest you go to your dealer and get that pump replaced. It's a horrible part that breaks constantly.

Never had an issue in my 2010 E350 and the 2014 E350 I drive now has had no issues.

In addition, all of the multi-contour settings are tied to each memorized driver positions. My settings #1 button keeps different settings than the #2 button.

I have hard time believing that you guys do not have problems with your contour seats.
My seat deflates lumbar support and side bolster in as little as 10 minutes or less, whatever takes me to get money from versa teller machine. In other words, each time I turn on my engine I have to adjust lumbar support and side bolsters. On a longer ride, continuous 2+ hours rides, I have to adjust lumbar again because it deflates. Side bolsters are even worse. They rapidly deflate a few degrees at a time during my half hour ride home.
I took my E550 to the dealer several times, complained at MB tech support and got case number. MB tech support worked with dealer to fix the problem several days, while I drove E350 2012 with multi contour seats and same symptoms. Final MB conclusion after they all confirmed that seat doesn’t hold position is: “Seat performs as designed”.
Those of you that don’t have multi contour seats, please do not post misleading information. If you do have multi contour seat and it doesn’t deflate, it is not working as designed.

While an old thread, I'm having the same issue as you cvi4u. The bladders pass the leak test. I notice they seem to leak more while using the 'drive dynamic' feature, so I wonder if more air is leaking out of a valve somewhere than should be. If I turn that feature off I think the seats hold the air, but I need to test that out and verify. I'm guessing no one had a solution to this.
