Assistance Needed from Canada

Hi All -

I'm looking from assistance from one of our Canadian members to make a call to their local parts department for the Eyeglass Compartment for the new 2014 E350 (see attached photo from the 2014 E350 owners manual.

According to my US parts contact, it is not available in the US but should be available in Canada.

I would like to know if someone could find out availability and let me send them enough cash to buy and ship this part to me in the US.

Any takers?

Just an FYI, I installed this option in my Volvo. And as it says, its a holder for eyeglasses. I purchased this to hold my sunglasses but the majority of them, due to fashion are quite large, and they wouldn't fit. The lenses needed to be of average size and needed to close to a compact size. It is a great idea for excess storage and easy access while driving.

I actually just calles my dealer and they said since its not available to US, we need a VIN of a car that has it in order for us to receive it. So we need a number of a german car or possibly a canadian car.. and will takes several weeks to deliver.

I heard that the vin actually has to be from a car that already has the sunglasses holder. Going to be hard..

I think we are talking apples & oranges here.

A US dealer can presumeably order a non-US item only if they show that they have a customer that has a car with that particular feature - in this case, a Canadian car with that option.

However, that shouldn't stop any Canadian dealer from ordering that spare part without a VIN since that item appears to available in Canada as an option.

I actualy called MB Vancouver this morning and gave them the part number. They are checking with Germany for availability and will let me know final cost and delivery dates. The parts gal told me there would no problem shipping it to me in the USA ... neat!

I'm in Canada, bought one of those from eBay and installed it on my 2012 E sedan (at around $50?). Key is that it's quite shallow so it can only fit the wired frame smaller glasses, not my Ray-Ban Wayfarer.

Do you mind posting how much the final costs are when you get them? If the price is decent maybe I will order one from vancouver too.

I miss Vancouver.. home town.
