I negotiated very hard, and in the end the differential out-the-door between similarly equipped 2013 and 2014 E350 they wanted was about $6K.
The problem with the 2014 is that (you may find this funny) they wanted to have the star emblem on the hood and so would have to buy the luxury model. But, it doesn't seem like the luxury model can be ordered with 18s, and they thought the 17s looked kind of plain. The sport model, did't have the hood emblem they wanted.
Also the 2013 was pretty much exactly what they wanted, a Sport model with 18s and the hood emblem, and it's Diamond white and has the features they want.
So while sometimes I think there should have been a greater savings for getting a '13 relative to a '14 -- in the end, they're happy with it and that's what counts most.
Thanks for listening to my self-debate :-) -- btw, they got a 2013 Diamond White/Almond MB Tex Sport with P2, split folding seats, and Lane Tracking package. It's a beautiful car :-)

MBWorld Fanatic!
I would say that's pretty decent discount. I got $10k off a 2013 back at the end of April. so that's another $2k.

Probably should have asked this beforehand, but $12K is decent-standard. I got $10K off a similarly equipped car (with probably $1-2K less MSRP) about exactly 2 years ago, and the discounts have gotten even larger since then.
You definitely didn't get a bad deal, it's certainly more on the "good deal" side, but it wasn't the most aggressive deal given on a W212, especially considering it's a loaded up E Class.
Diamond white is beautiful on these cars and they made a good tasteful/aesthetic choice by going with the sadly soon-extinct (from New sale) pre-facelift.
