I am looking at leasing a new E350 Luxury Package car. I was told today at the dealer that they can change out the grille and put the sports package grille on the luxury package car. Has anyone seen a luxury package car with the sports package grille? Seems like it would look sharp. Any thoughts?

 

Would look absolutely hideous and mismatched/ill fit IMO. Best to just get the Sport model if you want that look.

I dont know why you guys think it will look any uglier than it already does.
If you think its my horrible Photoshop skills that make the swaps look dreadful... let me remind you that both versions looked hideous in the first place.
Honestly though the sport grill on the Lux looks better than the Lux on the sport. (thats probably because the sport looks like crap regardless.)

 

The new sport grille will never cease to look awkward and mismatched on this inherent body style. Looks so cheeky, E's should look more powerful and stately a'la pre-facelift grille. To me the E's Star grille reminds me of a Mercedes commercial vehicle.

 

may be a nice OEM mod in the future! at first i thought the whole bumper had to be replaced, but just the grill still works.

 

I don't know about you all but I have no issues with the sport look. If anything it's getting more attention than MY13 (I would say mostly thanks to the lighting package). But from a sport vs. luxury, keep them separate!

 

Mercedes hasnt kept them separate.
Mercedes already sells them that way in other countries, so if the OP wants that look here in North America then he should go for it.

I'd love to get a sport wagon with the E63 AMG S grill. To me that grill....well the whole front end of the car looks great. Is there anyway to get AMG styling on a wagon without spending $100K for the real deal?

Was going to get an illuminated star, but was afraid of all the backlash from members here (especially K-A)!

Actually, my car came in a month early before I was able to change the order. It was going to cost $1k to retrofit at the dealer. I like but not that much.

 

The pricing for that option is just horrible...

 

Why doesn't the US lux version have that nice mesh plastic on the bumper intakes? Maybe I can eventually order that from EUR as a retrofit.

 

Of course everyone has their own opinion but I think they should just stop making the luxury grill altogether and put the sports grill on all E's. I don't like the luxury grill on the sport.

 

^ why not keep giving people the choice? it's only a few cosmetic parts and different springs/dampers & wheels.

the sport look on my 4-cyl would be rice. on the 550 it fits well. e250 is a luxury car, not a sports car.

 

Did you end up swapping the luxury grill for the sport grill? I was thinking about doing the same thing myself.

 

Anyone have any suggestion whether i need snow tires with the all seasons that come with the car. I am finally picking up my new E350 sport tomorrow. The dealer says they the 18 in AMG all weathers are good in the snow, Iv'e heard they may not be right. Any suggestions?

 

I saw my first lighted star on the front grill of a new Mercedes garbage truck cruising our neighborhood. It looked very stylish and the trash man suggested I get one for my car. Can't wait to see how it will look, lol!

 

You are right ! It does look sharp ! Look @ the front cover of the W212 Owners Manual. This is exactly the combo offered in Canada for the standard 2014 E 250/350 which also come with the 17" 5-Twin spoke alloys. IMO, this version (known in Canada as the Avantgarde line) looks much better than the US or Canadian Sport Versions. I find the Sport front apron to be too aggressive.
