Main Differences Between E350 2011 vs 2012 vs 2013
Hi,
I own an e350 Bluetec 2011, and I was wondering what the main differences are between the 2011 model vs the 2012 and 2013 models. Most importantly the physical differences such as the DRL straight lights and other changes that they made throughout these 2 years.
Thanks

Sorry for reviving an old post but looking at the three brochures, the body's look indistinguishable to me. I read that 2013 was a facelift but what am I missing? Thanks.

Facelift occurred in the 2014 model year. 2013 still had the old style.
One major difference between 2011 adn 2012/2013 is the LED running lights. 2011 had the hockey stick led while 2012 and 2013 had the longer straight led lights.
Also the 2011 and 2012 had the blue efficiency label on the front quarter panel right behind the front wheel well. the 2013 does not have that.
Other than those 2 things, I can't think of any major exterior appearances that is different.
The standard gas engine was changed to the new M276 engine in 2012.
These are all USA changes, not sure about rest of the world.

Thanks for the info. So since I'm looking to purchase one and not have it immediately dated, it looks like a 2012 is a pretty safe bet. It would still have some warranty remaining (provided its below 50K) and would probably save me some dollars.

I've seen various mags list the M276 E350 at 5.9 to 6.1 seconds 0-60 while the older one was listed at 6.5 to 7.1 seconds 0-60

I pulled my info from 2013 owners manual. It's not the first time owners manual is off. Also MB likes to play around "features" between production dates.

The wheel options are slightly different between 2011 and 2012/2013. But you can see that in the brochures.
In 2011 they used the hockey stick DRL on the sport model (3 bar grille) and the straight DRL on the luxury (4 bar grille). I am not certain, but I think in 2010 they used the hockey stick on both sport and luxury.
They didn't have the blue efficiency label on the 2011 AFAIK. I think they added that in 2012 to signify the better efficiency you mentioned in your other post.

The two 2011's we looked at before we bought our 2013 all had the blue efficiency label. I wonder if they were only on certain configurations?

When I was looking at 2010/2011 E350/550 to buy, I never saw that badge in person or in any online photos. Based on the brochures posted above, you see that badge added in 2012. But it is not shown in the 2011 brochure.
My guess is they added that badge in 2012 to distinguish the different engines compared to the 2010/2011 models. 2011 350/550 offered the same engines as 2010 so no need to distinguish.
It looks like they dropped those side badges in 2013 based on photos in the brochure. But the 350/550 engines were unchanged from 2012. I guess the designers changed their minds.

"When in Eco Mode, we managed a surprising average of 23 miles per gallon. Sport Mode was a bit lower, but still impressive nonetheless. The E350’s electronically assisted steering was spot on while driving at faster speeds, but felt a bit over eager at lower speeds. Highway driving was spectacular. The rutted asphalt along the New Jersey Turnpike felt positively flat while riding in the E350. Wind noise, even at extra-legal speeds, was almost imperceptible."
